i know, they are fucking incredible and the new single implies that quality level will continue. Got the chance to book them/run lights for them last week and it was a pretty transcendent experience. those first three tracks off the last LP, already amazing, are quite expanded upon in a live setting. highly recommend philly folks check them out.
Review next Thursday and interview will be published the following week :) due to length and tempo, this album is definitely a grower, but the longer I spend with it, the more I think it could be their best
they're playing at Minimart in west phl on on 4/26 with hooky/pulsr/joyer (sick lineup). they're a must-see live act fr. if i didn't have a gig in NYC that day i'd be there myself.
"Bad News" 100%, they're pushing that as a single day of release, and for what it's worth, my favorites are "Heartstring," "Every Exchange," and "A Little." "Shell" sounds like something off of Taster. Even more than the last album, I think this one does a really good job of pulling from all previous sounds the band has explored.
Yep! Self-produced by the band along with Andrew Sarlo and Bennett Littlejohn. Review should go up today :)
damn this is gorgeous - i'm listening via a NZ VPN lol highlights for me (aside from the singles) on first listen were "heartstring," "every exchange," "bad news," and "a little." "every exchange" and "bad news" reminded me a lot of where they went on the last EP - kinda hyperpop adjacent in a really cool way! "heartstring" and "a little": damn, i think Will could make a convincing alt-country record! overall, the record feels a bit backloaded to me. excited to spend more time with this!
My review: Hovvdy – Hovvdy I hope everyone enjoys the album as much as I do :) hoping to publish my interview with the band next week!
"Time's a thief" - a girl I went to grade school with who now sells makeup in a pyramid scheme. These non-singles are beautiful. Really loving "Til I Let You Know"
