Is it comparable in quality to True Love? Does it overstay its welcome being 19 songs or is the length justified?
"Forever" is probably the closest thing to that here. Expect a slower tempo overall. Too early to tell, and I couldn't confidently cut anything. Two of the songs are intros and the album is only 53 minutes, so it's not like a bonafide double-album. A handful of the songs are closer to two minutes than three or four, and I love that because it makes me want to revisit those songs as well as helps move things along. Grimace with the demands smh
I would say this has the tempo of Cranberry and the textures of True Love. It's a lot to take in, and I'm already excited to play it back. The closing track is a stunner.
Okay, you gotta sit with this one for a couple of weeks and give it a number of listens for it to really click due to the length, but once the vibe is right, it is a really, really special record.
honestly i think the length suits the record perfectly. it's lovely to really sink into this band. i think it's a really special record
It’s funny how I can sit here and say this year has flown by so far, but in the same breath say that the wait for this has been excruciating. How is it still two weeks away!
Just discovering this record from last July that definitely hits like upbeat Hovvdy does. Quoting for context but I’d recommend it to anyone in here! Doesn’t ever get weird or anything but it’s a breezy listen. Wattaya Say could easy be a Will Hovvdy song
