I'm not a GoT fan, but the timing of this show seems perplexing to me. Fans and the author of the book seem disappointed at how rushed the ending of GoT was, so what was the point of rushingly ending the series if they're just going to dive right back into the universe in a prequel series?

    A (Cancelled) Dork Prestigious

Suppose this would be based on the Fire & Blood books, I guess now it's not so surprising GRRM wanted to get at least the first one of those out before The Winds of Winter lol

Different show runners. HBO let D&D make that decision to rush it...maybe they'll be a bit more controlling with whoever does this.

I for one am excited as fuck. Between The World of Ice and Fire, and Fire&Blood, I've found The Dance of the Dragons to be probably the most compelling part of Targ history, right up there with the Conquest, the reign of king Jaehaerys, and the first 3 Blackfyre Rebellions, all of which I'd love to see shows about (though the Jaehaerys show frankly wouldn't be that exciting haha...there'd be palace intrigue as they rule the realm and that's about it, but the palace intrigue is the best part of this world IMO). If they did a Blackfyre Rebellions show I guess they could squeeze in the 4th and 5th ones too, so we could see Ser Duncan the Tall and a young Barristan Selmy.

I don't know if this show had anything to do with it tbh....I think at this point he just loves the world building more than he actually likes writing ASOIAF haha

Oh, also, of course this means...DRAGONS.

Seriously I never have been into dragons ever until this book series and world lol. I enjoyed Smaug in The Hobbit when I read it but dragons were just never really my thing. But something about their nature in this world is appealing to me. And if this show gets made, it means we get to meet two of my favorites from World/F&B, Vhagar and Vermithor.

Hopefully. It seems like he’s been working on this script in secret, so maybe if it’s done he’ll devote even more time to Winds in the meantime
