I also love that we got the mention of Jaehaerys and alyssane’s dragons refusing to fly past the wall. I assume we’ll never get Jaehaerys’s reign on film so it’s nice to get that little interesting tidbit thrown in there
Some thoughts. Glad this website breaks my keyboard every 3 seconds with ads….anyways. Loved the opening in the north and with the way the book readers in here described Cregan I think they casted him perfectly? Was definitely confused when I saw Jayce back so soon but I’m assuming him and Cregans moments will still happen. Was very surprised to see Aegon be empathetic as king? If not for show it definitely seemed like he wanted his first day to be good. Fuck Cole lil bitch ass snitch ass That scene with Jayce and Rae was great. Some good acting. Very curious about the stuff that’s gonna play out with Corlis and his fleet. Seemed to be foreshadowing stuff with that sword he was going to gift to V. holy shit at that season preview. We are in for a great season of television
Yeah or also kinda like Bridgerton or Downton Abbey but with dragons. Since Jaehaerys reign was one of the longest periods of peace in Westeros history It's that part of the book where this is no majors wars and not a lot of violence, just tons of courtly intrigue, romance, and family drama. It would be Game Of Soaps for sure. Its very different than everything else
Agreed with both. They should've ended it with my blood and cheese, not Alicent getting it on. Would've been perfect. Also I was also surprised with the omission of "hear that your mom wants you dead" as that part in the book definitely added weight to the situation. Otherwise, I liked that premiere. So good to be back baby!
that was alright! I thought the child beheading scene was gnarly enough as it is for the first episode of a new season thank you
There are two sons and a daughter in the books. Helena is made to choose which son to kill. She chooses the younger son, maelor, and cheese says “ya hear that boy your mother wants you dead.” And then they be head Jaheryas in front of her. Alicent is also there.
non book reader and yeah that scene was perfectly fucked up as is, I didn't need to see any more. less is more sometimes. but also haven't seen most of Game of Thrones so I don't have the benchmark of the red wedding to compare to I suppose in general my whole apartment was into it but I was too exhausted today to really grasp any subtle details. I just like bigass dragons flying around man
I'm already exhausted but only because I did a rewatch of S1 in like 5 days, including 3 episodes yesterday. such a heavy show to binge
Also love how Rhaenys does not give a fuck about Daemon lol. Everyone else is a little scared of him and she’s just like yeah you’re not the king and you can’t order me around little cousin
half sister yes. Rhaenyra is the daughter of Viserys and his first wife who died in episode 1 last season. Aegon is Viserys’ son by way of Alicent
is it just my imagination or did they tone down the White Worm's accent like a lot. she doesn't sound like Calypso from Pirates of the Caribbean anymore lol
