Hey I refused to read ahead in the books during the GOT run, didn’t wanna be spoiled on anything haha. Once they got to 6 and people assured me nothing else could really be spoiled by the books besides maybe a few Meereen plot points, I started diving into books 3-5
Also I didn’t realize the interview was a RandomHouse thing. That make way more sense because I was like “how in the hell did they convince GRRM to say so much about the book” and such haha
Just watched the lyric video for Jenny of Oldstones and it made me super nostalgic for GOT. And made me think about the characters in the context of how this shows story is, aka how the histories and songs will rememebr them. Like how Jaime Lannister is going to be a villain in many stories but it will also be told about how he kept his oath and rode north to face the dead by himself and etc. damn it sucks they rushed it
I wish they didn't choose not to include the heartfelt goodbye Arryk and Erryk have with eachother during the parlay on Dragonstone knowing the next time they'll meet will be as enemies from the book as GRRM even mentions in the book a famous song was written about that moment that people still sing 150+ years later.
The whole season is marathoning on HBO, haven’t watched episode 1 in a while, forgot about how good of a pilot it was with the tourney and everything. Daemon asking Alicent for her favor after picking her brother and unhorsing him just to fuck with Otto is still so good
do we think he said the king for a day line? i feel like everything we see with him/viserys the rest of the season leads me to believe no, but he’s also probably only early-mid 20s in the pilot so who knows
Henry Cavill just renounced his role as Geralt in the Witcher in S4 (S3 is already done) im sure the rumor mill for him being in this will pick up (again) but probably just Superman stuff
Yeah I’ve been very confused by the Aegon casting. It would have to be a flashback or they’d have to do another show completely (and idk if he’s gonna have time for that) I’ve seen people fan cast him as Cregan too. With him back in the mix for DC, I doubt he’s gonna have time for much.
Tbf unless they were gonna do a full on thing where they decided to fill in a lot of story themselves, a show about the Conquering could probably be done in 2-3 seasons tops
A show just about the conquering would be like a single season, and even then they'd have to stretch. They'd have to do the Dornish War too to make it a full series. I'm ok with Aegon I only being a flashback cold open. Aegon's Conquest and Robert's Rebellion are the two things I'd rather them not adapt. Just let some things in lore remain lore.
