Some motherfucker is going to burn down their garage trying to make their own Painted Table, bet on it.
it’ll be some 3 minute time lapse video on Instagram that’s like “here’s how you can easily make your own Dragonstone table!” But then step 1 is like “rent this flamethrower that you have no previous training in”
Another change (albeit a minor one) from the book: In the book it's not Otto that comes to parlay with Rhaenrya on Dragonstone, but Grand Maester Orwyle. Actually the scene in the book is a lot cooler imo Rhaenrya like a boss very calmly grabs the Grand Maester chain off of Orwyle's neck and puts them on her own Maester. Also there is supposed to be a touching moment between Eryyk and Arykk during that scene they didn't do at all in the show < F&B spoilers
Yeah as awesome as it looked, I was not expecting arrax to be THAT small. Figured he'd be more Season 7 Rhaegal/Viserion sized rather than Season 5ish Drogon hah
Also there is another really interesting theory about the nature of Dragons in the book that is presented by one character, but discounted by others as being nonsense that I want to see if this show goes with that Dragons can change their sex at will so that male dragons can lay eggs too, kind of like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. Their sex being described as being "as mutable as a flame"
i dont know that i am ready to go here just yet - but there are unquestionably entire seasons of GoT that are not nearly as good as this was.
i think we could realistically get a premiere in 2023 but it probably wont be until around this time at the earliest.
The shows are a little hard to compare for me though tbh. This has all of the fun political scheming and maneuvering that GoT had, but it doesn't have as much of the mystique, lore, world building or separate character stories running in parallel that I think intrigued a lot of fans. This is a much more straightforward story so I guess it just depends on how you feel about that. But overall, I agree. I've had more fun with this than some of those GoT seasons.
Yeah they'd have to start like February at the latest. But I wouldn't be surprised if they hold it until Spring 2024 and start it in GOT's old March/April spot.
