And holy shit at that preview for next week goddamn. Vermithor looks like everything I was hoping for. No idea what Daemon is doing there but I’ll take it.

so wow this episode took things in a way different direction than I was expecting. Lots of changes from the book. The kinda sorta infighting within the Greens is very interesting. Wasn’t expecting the whole search through the city we saw to be competing greens searching for Aegon.
Not sure what happened there at the end with the White Worm, but assuming she survived, I guess we can see why she ends up aligning with Daemon again book spoiler don’t look.

The way they set up the Erryk/Arryk split was cool. The brother that bailed, was that the one that was Aegon’s sworn protector? And he was disillusioned with what Aegon was? Or was that his brother who was disapproving of his brother for tagging along with Aegon on his adventures?

Also wow they really went out of their way to redeem Alicent as much as possible after causing so much hate for her for a few episodes. But making the usurpation based on what she thought Viserys asked for, and then having her go to great lengths to try to keep Rhaenyra alive against Otto’s wishes..wow. I hope we get one last meeting between those two before the war kicks off but I don’t think we will (but according to the previews for next week it does look like Otto goes to Dragonstone…seems like a bad idea!)

Larys really continuing to be an enigma…offering to sell out Alicent to Otto….doing all his work for Alicent just so he can jerk it to her feet…gonna be interesting to see his spy ring vs. whatever happens with the White Worm’s.

 

I think I got more excited to see Vermithor than I did for Vhagar. And uhh holy shit at getting Storm’s End next week. That’s gonna be a fucking wild way to end this season. People are gonna freak I think Bran Stark window or Ned Stark Baelor style haha vague allusions to OG GOT that might spoiler some events for you next week

 

Yeah when they said to expect less nudity and explicit sex in this I did not have "man jacks off to woman's bare feet" in mind as an alternative. I guess it counts as less explicit technically.

 

Mysaria's Patois-like accent is so good. It reminds of the Belter accent from The Expanse.

 

Tom Glynn-Carney's portrayal of Aegon as a spoiled depraved hedonistic scumbag with daddy issues has been great so far. I can't wait to see how he portrays him as a full blown Milk of the Poppy addict in later seasons < major spoiler

 

I must have missed it but why are they called the greens

 

"you know what color the hightowers light up their beacons when they go to war?" "green"

 

I’ve enjoyed this season but this episode was a mess. Not good. Also are the twins named Erryk and Arryk? lol

 

Rhaenyra’s wedding when she shows up in the green dress earned her supporters the nickname the greens. It also happens to be the color of the fire that burns on the top of Hightower when House Hightower is at war

 

Of all episodes you thought THIS one was a mess?

for real lol. the clear weak episode this season is episode 3. everything with the adult actors has been on a roll

 

If people think Eryyk and Ayyrk are dumb GRRM naming conventions I can't for people to react to Grover, Elmo, Kermit, and Oscar Tully

 

Asha and Osha was pretty bad too but they decided to change that one lol
