it didn't seem like she was leading larys on. it seemed like he was forcing her to quid pro quo for his information. but yes that's the vibe i got from criston. also im still assuming "beast beneath the boards" is a clue to larys warging to rats/beatles (noticed the beatle on the helm of his staff was clearly and prominently showcased before foot stuff. though i guess it could be as simple as melys
The design of Blackfyre is sick Correct me if i'm wrong but i don't believe Aegon personally wielded Blackfyre in the book. It would be dope if we got a Blackfyre vs Dark Sister duel at some point in this show.
i’m pretty sure that was Mysaria’s brothel/HQ burning that we saw Rhaenys & Arryck (Erryck?) walk past as they snuck out. I suppose she could have escaped, though. Christon’s reactions in Flea Bottom tell me he’s taken up Alicent’s piety and gave me big incel vibes, but maybe that is just a front if they are doing ”things”.
Thinking back on the scene in episode 2 on Dragonstone where Westerling gave Hightower that massive eyeroll when he lied about what Viserys wanted. That guy has always hated Otto. Also I wish Mysaria would have said "do you remember the time you called me a common whore and threatened to kill me and my unborn child almost 20 years ago?"
I don't think they're doing things, I think she has him psychologically in a "I know you want me but you cannot have me" time of way.
One major change from the book i'm predicting for next episode Rhaenrya is going to make Rhaenys her Hand of the Queen instead of Corlys< book/show spoiler
There being like four different sets of twins in this show I think is confusing some people. I already saw reactions where people were referring to Tyland Lannister in the council scene as "Jason" just completely forgetting that it's two totally different characters played by the same actor lol
If I wasn't following this thread, I'm not sure I would have picked up on there being two Lannisters either.
They've shown them both at the same time/in the same place with different outfits a few times now, but not since like episode 5 I think so it's been a while. But early on in the show, Jason was the one with the longer hair hitting on Rhaenyra, while Tyland was the one pestering Viserys about the Stepstones and sending them reinforcements on Aegon's birthday.
what books/material do i need to read aside from the main GoT entries as well as Fire & Blood? I wanna get to work between seasons of this and along with my rewatch of the series that i sarted against my better judgement.
I ordered Fire and Blood today so I can read it between seasons 1 and 2, which is exactly what I did with the first few ASOIAF books.
Fire & Blood will cover this show the most extensively, as well as at least half of the other future potential shows about House Targaryen The World of Ice and Fire is a more general, broad history of the Targaryen Dynasty and every king and his family, and yes the events of the current show will also be quickly detailed there....As well as the history and stories of literally every place in the Known World (according to the Maesters)...this is the book that kinda got me hooked into the world that GRRM has built. It goes in depth on the history of every Kingdom in Westeros, with more broad information about the ancient history and Age of Heroes, the Long Night, etc, and also looks at every other region in the world. So the Free Cities, Essos, Old Valyria, Slavers Bay, Qarth, The SUmmer Isles, Naath, the Basalisk Isles, Sothroyos, etc etc etc. Really cool stuff that makes me want shows like the one rumored about Corlys' 9 voyages around the world, becuase I really wanna see this stuff haha. A LOT of potential future shows may get their origins from this book. This is a coffee table book or whatever it is large in size haha. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a novella collection of 3 short stories about Ser Duncan the Tall and his eventual squire "Egg", whose identity is kind of a spoiler for the first short story so I won't say it here. But if you pay close attention in your rewatch of GOT, you will get a big hint as to his identity haha. These stories are awesome and definitely worth the read--they will almost certainly become another show on HBO. They are quick reads. I think that's it off the top of my head. I do highly reccomend the audio books for both the main series and the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms book too. I'm not a big audiobook person and will always read first, but enjoyed those audiobooks even after already having read the books. The guy that does the audiobooks for the main series does different-ish voices for every character (he's also the actor that played the Pyromancer who was mad at Bronn for calling wildfyre "pig shit" lol)...he died a few years back so not having him for Winds and Spring when they eventually come out will suck. And Harry Lloyd, AKA Viserys III Targaryen in GOT, does the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms book. He doesn't do as many "voices" but he does a good job with it.
So people can tell the difference Jason Lannister = Lord of Casterly Rock. Long hair. Very dumb guy. Kind of an arrogant party guy and lady's man Tyland Lannister = Master of Coin on the Small Council. Shorter hair. Very intelligent guy. Kind of an erudite bureaucrat.
Just F&B will do. World of Ice and Fire is cool, but it's just going to give you a cliffnotes version of what happens in this show compared to F&B. World of Ice and Fire is essentially a book version of the ASOIAF Wiki but with really cool illustrations. Like David mentioned the Dunk & Egg novella collection of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is cool but it covers an entirely different time period in Targ history, but we'll probably get a different spinoff about that story eventually.
I can see the point they are trying to make here but I think it could have been excuted a bit better though not exactly sure.
