Alright couldn’t watch because I’m watching the Eagles game, but just saw this tweet, I guess from the previews for next week: We’re getting Vermithor next week?!?!?! Omgggggg
The Cole/Beesbury scene was actually more kind to Cole than it is in the book where Cole either straight up slashes his throat or tosses him out a window, depending on who is telling the story
Rewatching Wait so Otto Hightower was really about to send Westerling and the rest of the Kingsguard on basically a hopeless suicide mission to kill Rhaenerya, Daemon, and their kids on an island with over a half dozen dragons? No wonder the guy quit right then..
Probably won’t happen I’m sure for another season or two. So they haven’t started filming s2 yet correct? Then won’t have s2 til 2024…..
It was no Selmy "a hall for me to die in and men to bury me!" Kingsguard resignation but it was good.
The preview for next week. The split second of Vhagar an eye for an eye. a son for a son Book/show spoiler alert GIVE ME IT.
Leaks had this episode wrong towards the end of it. One of the few misses in what had largely been correct so far
It'll probably be one the final scenes as a build to it in the season 2 premiere. I doubt we're getting that until next season. It would be crazy if the season actually ends on that though.
Making Ser Erryk Aegon's sworn sword as the reason he hates the Greens and defects to the Blacks vs in the books how he sides with the Blacks just simply because he is Rhaenerya's sworn sword on Dragonstone when all this stuff goes down was an interesting change. Adds a lot more depth to the Cargyll twins.
Need a whole lore vid about those twins. Also I was confused about the crowns. Viserys was gold but Aegon the Conquerors was black?
Visery's crown is the crown that belonged to Jaehaerys I who is in this timeline is considered right up there with Aegon I with legendary and respected Targ kings. Aegon being a legendary warrior and Jaehaerys being a legendary peacemaker. I don't think it's so much the colors of the crowns but who originally wore them.
They will not be sending out the season finale episode in advance next week. No embargo. Nothing. Nobody will see it until it airs. I wonder if they’ve changed something significant and want to keep it hidden. For those that’s read the books they all know Luke will die next week thus starting the dance BOOK SPOILER DO NOT READ will end the first season at this point. Makes me curious if they’ve altered something leading to that. Or perhaps filmed something to end with other than that
They keep showing rats. Haelaena says in this episode "There is a beast beneath the floorboards". This episode they build a reason why Mysaria would hate the Greens and want revenge. I dunno i was doubtful but they maybe they really are building to that as the final scene of the season... < me trying to vague about a major spoiler, but still a spoiler.
I took Haelaena’s saying as what happened at the end of the episode with the dragon busting through the floor but that’s a good point too. Big show/book spoiler Obviously ending with them finding out of Luke’s death is a fine ending point and picks up good for S2. It gets the fans aware that war is coming. But man, imagine ending with THAT instead. It would leave most viewers, even those familiar with the material, floored.
I think it's implied in this episode that Alicent is leading Cole along sexually for her own uses as well. Maybe not so explicitly as she is with Larys.
