Fuzzy on the books and the lore but V’s daughter said, “the beast under the boards” during the dinner scene. Any ideas what that’s referencing or alluding too? (I’m fine with reading the spoilers if someone knows, I won’t remember by next week anyway lol)
I thought she called him Erryk at first and he corrected her and said I’m arryk? Easy names to mix up by year though haha
Man the throne room scene is everything. Viserys walking in and struggling to the throne because he knows his daughter needs him. Refusing help and then the crown falling off….And Daemon steps in showing his love for his brother by helping him get to the throne and crowning him. Just such a sweet moment for the brothers to have. Ugh.
Aemond being impressed and yet jealous of Daemon, wanting to kill him and be him at the same time, etc....so good. Daemon rolling his eyes and making noises during the prayer at dinner...lol. Seriously Daemon was everything this episode.
The dinner scene is crushing. Viserys is so desperate for them to love each other as much as he does. What do we think of the words spoken? I think Rhaenyra's toast was legit. I think Alicent's reply was as well. Not sure what to think of that final interaction, with her asking her to stay, and Rhaenyra saying she'll see the kids home then come back on dragonback. Foreshadowing and all that, but it seemed legitimate. Looks like the Aegon misunderstanding at the end is going to ruin all that though. Didn't seem like a threat when it was said though. Still can't get over the Viserys taking one final look at the dinner scene though. Like I want to believe he was happy, but something about the way he was looking and the music and all that, it feels almost as likely that he's just coming to terms with the split in his family and accepting finally that he cannot heal it no matter how much he wants to.
quad-post lol but the luke portrayal is so good too ... like, he's a little shit but you want to root for him. you don't have to laugh at your uncle bro!!
