They did give us a litttttttttttle bit of "oh he's like THAT" with Corlys, when he got all handsy with Rhaenys and was like "nothing beats bedding a woman" or whatever. discussing the possible parentage of a future character, somewhat spoilery
I don't think it's incongruent. They've showed that Corlys is obsessed with legacy and heirs. I wouldn't put it past him to have a "break glass case incase all my direct heirs die before me" insurance policy. Also in the book it's implied he kept Addam and Alyn a secret until post-Rook's Rest because he was actually scared of Rhaenys lol < book/show spoilers
ok unless this episode spans the course of like 3 or 4 years i think they're doing something weird with the timeline here. Aegon and Viserys should be a little bit older than that if this episode takes place at the time I think it does.
Hah! The bemused Daemon stepping between Jace and Aemond, and giving him the stare like go on do something
Goddamn that was a lot of emotions in one episode. Me and my wife were trying to figure out if Viserys was truly happy there at the end of dinner, or if those looks he gave Alicent and Rhaenyra after watching the children dance was his letting himself come to grips with what awaits his family once he dies. He didn't look super happy looking at them but then again all he can really do is grimace in pain lol
I think this episode answers the question asked earlier in this thread about Aemond/Daemon. The core of Aemond's enmity is a weird mix of admiration and envy. He wants to emulate and outmatch Daemon at the same time
