I checked multiple times if something was wrong with my TV settings, until I saw on Twitter it looked that way for everyone
I'm noticing the absence of a mention of any mention of Prince Daeron's existence. I know that leaks said he won't be in this first season, that they're going to mention at some point that he's off squiring at Oldtown but i've yet to hear someone bring him up or give the excuse of why he isn't present. Maybe next episode.
I saw before hand that it was a dark one so I made sure to adjust the TV to the “Neil Miller settings”, it helped a lot and I didn’t feel like I couldn’t see anything.
Sad that we’ll say bye to Paddy next week. He has been so fucking good in this show spoiler for next week. be warned etc etc
Next week is definitely going to be more of a transitional episode i feel. Episode 9 though? Gods i am not ready...
Oh shit. I did not catch this. I mean I heard him say something at the end of the sentence but didn’t realize it was Aemma
Rhaenyra saying she won’t be a tyrant lmaooooooooo book spoiler/future show spoiler on a unrelated note it’s insane how much cooler older Aemond looks compared to Aegon.
It is so funny watching Daemon stand off to the side with a slightly bemused look on his face all the time lol. But was also interesting to see him make a move when shit was going down and have Cole intercept him, then the other kingsguard step in and grab Cole. which reminds me I also loved that tense little moment where Alicent asks Cole to take an eye and the Lord Commander kind of side eyes him, wondering if he’s gonna have to step in and stop Cole from doing it before Criston reminders her he’s only sworn to defend her. But back to Daemon, the poor dude wants to hug his brother/be accepted for who he is by Viserys so bad but can’t admit it/say it hah
To my fellow book nerds in here any thoughts on what they might end season 2 with down the line? My wife thinks it’ll end with Sunfyre having a snack but I would be incredibly disappointed
I guess is it makes the most sense to have it end with the taking of Kings Landing by Rhaenyra. Gives us a big death and sets us up for the second half of the war]
with the way they've handled some of these reveals/differing from the main theories of the book, im guessing they go the route daemon survives the gods eye and just peaces out
I'm interested to see if they go the route of Jace secretly marries the lord of Winterfell's bastard half-sister during the Pact of Ice & Fire subplot next season. Mushroom swears this happens in the book, but the other narrators discount his claim. <book/show spoiler
My bet is that season 2 ends on Blacks taking King's Landing/Rhaenerya finally sits on the Iron Throne as queen and it cuts her hand. i think they're going to want to end with the Blacks getting a major W before we get into the very dark stuff later. My prediction: season premiere will be Blood and Cheese, middle is Rook's Rest, penultimate episode is Battle of The Gullet, finale is the fall of King's Landing. I think we're going to get Pact of Ice & Fire and the Dragonseeds as major subplots to fill out the meat of the season inbetween. I think we're also getting the Red Kraken stuff next season too. I think we'll be introduced to Roddy the Ruin, but we won't get the Winter Wolves tearing shit up at The Fishfeed until season 3. < obviously major huge spoilers
Do we know if Laenor and Qarl escaped unbeknownst to Rhaenerya and Daemon, or if that was their plan all along?
I was wondering that at first as well, but then I forgot Daemon killed that one guard to throw on the fire. So seems like it was their idea to use a fake body.
