the ringer pod brought up a good point. i get rhae is scared of the rumors becoming too talked about and risking her/harwin's lives but harwin gets fired/exiled for punching a dude but that guy is still just nbd for publicly murdering a dude and punching the prince in the face? and is then just yanking around the future king in the courtyard? again, i realize alicent is kind of in the driver's seat for the throne but for as much it seems rhae was tiptoeing around the issue with harwin this week, it seems a little odd she didn't have a scene with viserys like "this dude has had a vendetta against me for a decade and also remember when he ruined my wedding and killed a guy"
Oh that’s what it’s referencing. I never heard of try guys before but I saw some drama just a bit earlier.
I had only just heard of the drama too because my girlfriend watches them, but they used the same tweet and just changed the names lol
Thats kind of what i was saying about the 10 years thing. We had a huge time jump without consequences yet all the events are relevant and brooded over when convenient, and glossed over when not. Im nitpicking a bit though and understand the scope of the source, and feel the season should be judged at end for those decisions.
Re: Criston, it seems simple enough for a Kingsguard to lie about a threat posed by a drunken knight at the wedding and have said lie be backed up by the Queen herself. Meanwhile Harwin attacked a member of the Kingsguard, unprovoked as far as anyone else around them could tell. Plus as we can already tell, the King is a very forgiving man. If he don’t call for the execution, then it’s not happening
Timejump spoiler for people who care about timejumps: there will be no real timejump the next episode, episode 7 takes place very soon after episode 6. There will one final timejump of a few years between 7 and 8 where some of Rhaenerya and Alicent's kids will be aged up and recast, and that will be it. So just one more. After that we'll get into the meat and potatoes of it all
Unless they do like continual flashbacks to Aegon's conquest or something i don't think so. Once we get there the Dance of The Dragons is pretty concurrent and takes place over the course of like 2 years. It's very dense too, lots to cover in those 2 years.
like i said previously, i would like to see this show jump a bit story to story from Fire & Blood and not be solely focused on dance of the dragons, which i think can lead to a bit more time jumping. not likely they go that route, but a non-zero chance for sure. they haven't said directly the entire series is going to be dance of dragons
There is one change from the books that is happening next episode that if that leaks are right sounds not as cool as how it happened in the book. Interested to see how they do it.
I don't mind them covering other stuff in F&B later after this current story they're telling ends in 4 or 5 seasons but do not want them jumping around entirely different stories like that. There is enough in F&B part one for like 2 or 3 more entirely separate stand alone series.
i find it very unlikely HOTD goes 7 or 8+ seasons. again, i'd like to see two, maybe three, seasons of DOTD, a few on the first two blackfyre rebellions, and then eventually bring it to robert's rebellion
HOTD going to go 5 season at the very most. More likely 4. The blackfyre rebellion period is going to be in the Dunk and Egg series which they already have plans to make in the future. Besides that I really don't want them to touch anything else that will be in F&B part two until that is eventually released. To be completely honest I kind of hope they never make Robert's Rebellion or Aegon's Conquest show, some things are just better off as lore. like I mentioned earlier i want my Jaehaerys I "The Crown"-esque soapy epic family drama show eventually. The Maegor parts of F&B would be dope as a series too.
I just haven't been able to get into this show like I was able to with GoT. Obviously, GoT was very dramatic, but this show feels like a soap opera half the time. Also only having 5 episodes with the different aged characters, I think has made it harder to empathize with them.
While i do miss some of the characters after the time jump, i still think this show has been fantastic.
I forgot about this actually. also the one picture of Viserys in World makes him look like he has darker hair too haha.
