Felt like they really sized down Harrenhall compared to what we saw in GOT. but yeah holy shit. Really didn’t think they’d go that way with Larys. And above and beyond even that—he’s basically blackmailing the Queen with what he did! So fucking awesome haha. but also RIP to the real ones Lyonel and Harwin. Wish they woulda stretched the story out more so we coulda got a full 2 seasons with them before the fire. Still can’t get over Vhagar and her badass self. My god.
i don’t know I think it’s a little more clear now. He fancies himself a player in the game and trying advance his power. In one move he made himself lord of the largest keep in the country AND implied to the Queen that she now owes him one, despite her insistence that she didn’t want what he did but basically the books did NOT make it seem that way from what I remember…they seemed to tilt him more towards Varys than Littlefinger. But dude defitnely has a bit more of Petyr Baelish in him then we thought
yeah im not particularly confused about larys' deal, his comparison to littlefinger is about as 1:1 as any comparison between characters of the two series
Love the foreshadowing they did in this ep for that with what the daughter said about the centipede but having in refer to Aemond
It's a little bit more compliated and nuanced than Littlefinger. Littlefinger was all about creating chaos to achieve power, Varys was all about the good of the realm, Larys though..something kind of inbetween or something entirely different, it's not just about power for him i think. Larys true motivations become especially complicated when you get the endgame of this story
Is it known the age difference between Daemon and Viserys? Seems like Daemon didn’t age / wasn’t given any makeup to advance his age while Viserys looks like he aged 30 years lol (I get V is beat up already by the sores and whatnot but still - loss of hair, etc. that’s separated from that)
A couple of foreshadowing moments with Helaena saying “he’ll have to close his eye” at the same time Alicent was talking to Aemond, and Daemon flying next to Vhagar and doing the “look no hands” move, that skill will come in handy later on! ^^^kept these less detailed but still easy enough to suss out so don’t read if you don’t want spoilers about future events. Also who do we think Aemond saw down in the dragon pit? I guess it could be Syrax as we can assume Rhaenyra has her dragon in Kings Landing and thus in the dragon pit. But was it possibly Vermithor or Silverwing or one of the other unclaimed?
Got major velociraptor vibes with that young dragon. It’s movements and turning of its head and such reminded me of the raptors from the original JP
i love the casting almost entirely but i feel like i have a bit too much baggage coming in with olivia cooke i really just don't feel like im buying into this amount of hatred bc of one lie about maidenhood lol
I mean I guess it’s also a combo of her knowing Rhaenyra got her dad kicked out of Kings Landing based on the lie and what Otto said to her on his way out. But yeah she is taking it way too far hah. I guess the fact that Rhaenyra is still pumping out Strong babies makes Alicent think of it as a insult
My personal theory that Larys Strong is actually the secret hero of this story in the end <(spoilery?) just got a little harder to sell to people LMAO
The Ringerverse talked about this in the ep 5 pod when discussing how Larys could possibly know as much as he did and I thought that was cool and was surprised they had V stare down the rat near the end since I thought that info would go longer unknown (maybe forever) and maybe it still does since casual fans may not listen to pods and put that together and they may not touch on this again
