you all have been hyping up Larys and just from his brief scenes, he's immediately one of my favorites

Spoiler for a character and his/her future so don't look if you don't want to know: I'm kind of sad that the fast forwarding of the show is going to mean we get very little actual time with Harwin Breakbones as Rhaenyra's sworn sword. Like, they're diving headfirst into the rumors next week it seems, and we've had very little establishment of that relationship so far, and if they stick with the general timeline of things, he gots to go before the king eventually dies and we get into the meat of the show. So I'm guessing that means we only get him for another episode, 2 at most. Kinda sucks.

Ser Criston Cole in the books is fine, but man this show is bringing so much more depth to that character.

Have had a chance to watch last nights episode. But can someone tell me of mushroom was in the episode?

  5. Maybe my expectations were just unbelievably low but I’ve enjoyed some of these first 5 episodes more than I enjoyed some of the first few seasons of GoT

    Especially last nights episode.

Hopefully I still enjoy it as much once some of the cast changes

There was a dwarf that was kind of leading the band playing in the hall and such, I think people are speculating that maybe that was Mushroom

I think part of that is we're basically getting an "event" every episode so it's just so much happening and we're seeing the effects of it pretty immediately, whereas in GOT it was all building and when there WAS a major event you often had to wait until the next episode to see the consequence. Tyrion being taken by Cat at the Inn at the Crossroads comes to mind. Major event that is going to move the story along, but we see the consequences of that action play out over the next 3-4 episodes instead of right then and there like we're getting with this show, and then the next episode is months or years after and we see what has happened haha

if the plot summaries episode by episode from that leak are to be believed, and they've been 100% correct so far outside of scenes that it seems safe to say were deleted, the fire at harrenhal is next week too. so literally only one episode for Harwin to cook

Ok that's telling me that's all we're getting from Mushroom, at least this season.

It sucks because as much as I love this show it needs some comic relief, which is the role Mushroom provided in the books.

I get it’s based on a book, but it’s still disappointing they went with the “bury your gays” trope…

The show also does an interesting showing of how history can be manipulated by those who are writing it. Particularly with having a show being based of a more "historical" book and the juxtaposition of the two.

Re-reading the portions of F&B that this show covers. I forgot what a quick easy read this is compared to the main books. from the Great Council of 101 AC to just a couple of episodes ahead of where we are at in the show now was maybe a 30 to 40 minute read.

Just remembered something else--if I'm not mistaken, I believe during the wedding I was picking up small hints/callbacks to "Light of the Seven". I might be mistaken but I was sitting there trying to figure out what the music was reminding me of and I think that was it.

Also just now realized that the casting of the Valeryon family is going to uhh.....super confirm some things for us that were only rumors in the books as it pertains to parentage. <----Left this somewhat vague but still a spoiler that might make something obvious before you get it next episode, so read at your own risk.

  24. soon as I seen one in the teaser for 6 I was like yep

Yeah obviously mixed children can look and present as white, and WE know that, but feels like the land of Westeros may be a little bit behind on the genetics aspect there hah. Def feels like something that will be used as further evidence against Rhaenyra as part of "They don't even look like they have valyrian blood!"..... but yeah I didn't really consider the possibility that the casting would play in that possible storyline until literally just now haha.
^^^Major spoiler you're all probably getting next episode do not read.
