I really don’t know what they’re doing with that whole story in the Riverlands right now though…characters and battles in different places/different outcomes. I’m not sure if that was supposed to be the Red Fork that just happened off screen or what

 

Oh uhhhh also that Aemond scene with Alicent…uhhh thought that was gonna be a Harrenhall thing not a real thing lol

I knew it was coming but it was even more brutal and fucked up. Not sure if it’s described like that in the books. The chase through the dragon stone passage was fantastic and all the ship combat was on point.


Yeah Vermax going down like that and Jace taking the arrows while floating atop his dying dragon in the water. Rest now my king.

Does the book make clear / imply that Jace stopped Rhaenyra from joining the battle, and in the way that he did? The thought of a queensguard directly disobeying the queen in that way seems a bit difficult to believe, particularly when she’s consciously risking her own safety (as opposed to, say, clearly have a mental health episode or something). Like that dude is just accepting death as a traitor(?) I guess lol

Yeah I feel like I “get” why they had this be the premiere instead of the s2 finale but I would have much preferred it have been how they ended s2, given how awkwardly anti-climactic it was

 

been a while since I’ve read it but I don’t think there’s anything like that in there. You just sort of wonder why the dragonrider with the biggest dragon in the area at that moment didn’t go out to fight, other then well she’s the queen she prob shouldn’t risk it thought
