Another complaint I have about the episode—the lack of curiosity or discussion of the dragonseeds origins, and everyone’s seeming unwillingness to tell Ulf to stfu lol. Rhaenyra tried the diplomatic approach and Jace a little more forceful, but Ulf clearly didn’t get the message.
yeah you're not wrong, getting all the new dragon riders was pretty dang cool but 4 was my personal favorite
i feel like they intentionally left it at “a son for a son” cus alicent is at least gonna try to bargain for that to just be aemond once shit goes down
I get Rhaenyra’s POV but Aegon being half burnt, can’t reproduce, and “a cripple” as he put it probably means she could leave him alive without much of a threat to her rule. Especially with Daemon back in her fold. Even if certain people do want a man, they’re not gonna cross Daemon as king consort
They already revealed their origins in previous episodes. In Hugh's case, unless they were going to actually involve Saera in the show, it seems pointless to rehash that story if nothing is going to come from it. Ulf seemed less certain of his actual origins. Seems some of it is true and some he has embellished, so same thing not really much point in him talking about it again. I believe they said in the episode after Rook's Rest that he was in the woods at the site of the crash and was still alive but wouldn't make it much longer.
i agree from the show’s perspective it would be a retread but it seems like something someone in rhaenyra’s position might be interested in learning haha
Ulf acting like an arrogant ass because he has a dragon is like the person who wins the lottery, brags constantly and is broke again in no time at all
That's fair haha. Just makes sense to not revisit it if there is no action or additional revelation, but I can understand wanting to see it.
So the daughter that was running around in the hills looking for the dragon… does no one know she is missing? Wasn’t she supposed to leave WITH that party when they left the Vale and they just uh, never looked back or did a head count at the end of the day? Also curious who this person is with Tyland. Assume it’s a major character since there was so much screen time devoted to this brand new character we’ve never met or heard about before in the show (I think). Kind of gutsy to give so much screen time in a season finale to a new character.
I more meant curiosity on the part of Rhaenyra and Jace especially who would seem to be very interested in their origins haha. And yeah I remember that, but idk if they’ve been like feeding him or just left the scene and assumed he died now haha
both of these are changes for the show. Rhaena seems to be getting a storyline from a character they cut from the show. and the person with Tyland is named Lohar (who I believe was a man in the story originally?) but seems to be getting a larger role here. Which is fine because she fucking RULED
I was a bit confused, is the character supposed to be non-binary/trans man, or is the actor non-binary female-presenting playing a male? I don’t remember much about the character in the books (I think the person leading the fleet was unnnamed? Really can’t remember), I just know the triarchy folks and the Lyseni especially are very flamboyant haha. But him/her asking Tyland to give her babies and Tyland seeming very confused and then the “how…how many wives do you have” was hilarious
