I thought it was good. Daemon’s visions + Aemond being shook to the core back to back was great. It’s also not surprising they ended S2 this way. Book spoiler it would’ve been dumb as fuck to end S1 and S2 in similar ways imo. Save it for start of next season
maybe the tiktokers only leaked 30 minutes because the other 40 minutes of the episode just consisted of jace sulking, ulf asking for chicken and rhaena camping
Pretty frustrated. Like you all said very good episode but like….cmon. We couldn’t have one more battle? Just mad we will have to wait 2 years for this epic battle in the riverlands.
The Daenerys and Night King visions were wild as hell. Will be interesting to see if GRRM comments on it at all.
The scene with Deamon seeing Blood Raven was sick. Coolest trip he had. loved the scene with Alyn and Corlys. Loved the scene with R&A. Just legitimately was hoping for ONE more battle
This is soooooo crazy. It’s the one big spoiler I know of and it’s very interesting they lay it out like this.
Yeah that’s my big criticism. So you COULD HAVE DONE 10 EP! They could have made this the penultimate and next ep the finale……
They definitely dragged out the Rhaena thing. Obviously she’s getting the dragon and I’m not sure why it didn’t happen in this season
Shit it was like nothing happened but the time flew by. I wasn't looking at the time and legit though there was probably 30 minutes left and a big battle about to happen when the credits rolled.
I really enjoyed the scenes with Tyland as a fish out of water/ comic relief. Loved the Helaena scenes from this episode too; I'm glad they gave her quite a bit of important dialogue.
Haven't watched yet but I'm getting the feeling from people that it DOESN'T end where we thought it would?
Going to tag this in case my reference could be seen as a spoiler: will be interesting to read/hear reactions to this. Ironically enough, like a week ago I was doing a random Wikipedia dive on the Halo series and while Halo 2 is super beloved, people also absolutely hated the ending and the cliffhanger of the giant battle you played all game for wasn’t even there and you had to wait for Halo 3 and I could see a similar reaction to how this season ended. I wasn’t paying attention to the time and was surprised it ended when it did and that we didn’t at least see the first moments or the start of something with any of the different parties involved.
I think there was a lot to love about the episode. Having said that, it felt more like a penultimate episode and not a finale. I get that the writer’s strike caused some of the shortened season, but having to wait like two years now to see what we know is coming is disappointing.
I just started reading an article on The Ringer about this episode/season and they say the decision was an executive decision, not a decision made by the show runners so I don’t think the strike caused the decision for only 8 episodes. For some inexplicable reason the network simply decided that.
I thought I read somewhere it played a factor. That’s a pretty shitty decision. Even if they cut it by one episode to just 9, I think they would only need one more episode anyway to give everyone what they expected to see and still keep them on edge for season 3.
This was a fine episode I guess but what a lame ass finale. And after last ep ended with such hype. Just make a couple more episodes per season, morons
