i pretty plainly said that it is idiotic to do that and didn’t say it got 1 star reviews because of the quality of the episode. okay. i’m sorry.
Eh, I think they’re both good but last weeks episode was weaker than this weeks imo. I enjoyed Harrenhall, Dragonstone, and KL more this week than last. A lot more intrigue this week at all 3 places, including the kiss.
They are reaaaaaly dragging Daemon's storyline at Harrenhall imo. I dont recall "feeling" that as I was reading it. Only quibble I have right now.
from what I remember he was there for weeks/possibly months? In the books but it’s all yadda yadda yadda’d into “yeah he was just gathering an army”, with the only exciting thing being that he had flown to Bracken’s castle on Caraxes and took it while they were out invading Blackwood land. I would have preferred they did that in the show too, but I am honestly loving all the freaky Harrenhall/alys rivers shit. It would make sense to not have much info about Daemon’s time there if this was what he was going through, no way he’d tell anyone about it/let it get out haha
I appreciate it and I'm sorry too because I was probably being grumpy. But I do think there is a way to say what you said without being dismissive. That's how I intrepreted it, whether you meant it or not.
I also think the previous ep was worse than this episode. There were some great scenes this week on reflection but still just not as focused as the first 4.
yeah i really liked this episode. and i agree with @Pepetito that the Daemon stuff feels so slow. I like angry and impulsive Daemon more.
Its not approaching bran story levels of boring but when the harrenhall stuff is on the screen i am straight up on my phone.
i am not bc alys rocks and simon is hilarious but I do agree that there needs to be more plot development there and not just coasting on vibes
I was curious if he came back to film those scenes or if they had filmed them during/after season 1 in advance. Always find it neat when an actor will come back for a brief cameo in something they previously had a larger role in.
And another one…not as weird as the daemon/strong one lol. I did hear Caraxes throughout the scene and I was def thinking he’s either stressed tf out because we know they’re connected to their riders, OR he was trying to warn Daemon about Alys because he could sense she was no bueno
Admittedly, I’m not a book reader but every time Daemon stuff comes on I literally have no idea what’s happening. It’s painful
In the book there’s pretty much no mention of Daemon at this time other than he was gathering an army in the Riverlands from what I remember. Well it’s also mentioned he helps the Blackwoods get the Brackens to submit. So really all we know from there is he was at Harrenhal for weeks or months, and we also know there’s a freaky witch lady there named Alys Rivers. So basically having him deal with the headache of getting the Riverlords to submit and spooky Harrenhal shit was all there was haha
I don’t understand what’s happening at the Vale. I know they went over there as Wards so why are they being sent away?
Joffrey is supposed to stay there, but rheana, Aegon, and Viserys were only stopping there while seeing if the guy at Pentos that was hosting Daemon and Laena and baela/rhaena there in season 1 would take them in. Rhaenyra told her this was the plan when she sent her to the Vale with them, I think she said she wanted to make sure all her heirs weren’t in one place
Makes sense, I don’t know why I didn’t pick up on that. I guess the hostility of the Lady of the Vale was confusing me about the whole situation
