if I remember correctly, When they take KL, it is rumored that daemon and Rhaenyra take Mysaria into bed together. I always assumed that was just another team green “look how terrible and sin filled this queen is” but this would open the door for that to be true
Cregan didn’t call all the banners because the men were needed for the harvest, but he is sending a couple of thousand of old dudes. Just takes them a lonnnng time to get down there. Vale men also need to be gathered but the Lady of the Eyrie is def dragging feet a little bit because she didn’t get the dragon protection she asked for.
Not sure how I feel about Seasmoke claiming a rider instead of the other way around, also don’t like that he got the dragon before Corlys legitimized him. (small spoiler but you can probably see it coming at this point) But also, something I never thought of before even when reading the book is—do either of the Hull brothers have Targ blood? Or just Valyrian blood? They’re Corlys’ sons clearly according to the show. also wait a second…did they…swap who the dragonrider is/who the great sailor is between the two brothers? That’s gonna make for some….weird stuff later on (though I guess one of those things we probably won’t actually get in this series) small book spoiler that’s vague but hints at someone’s lifespan
Yes this show is being way more geography/time accurate to the book than GoT in terms of how insanely long it takes to travel from the North by foot.
Also do enjoy that they keep showing us the small folk perspective via Hugh and Ulf. Keeping these guys in the picture and getting us a viewpoint we rarely got in GOT
Already had some future thing spoiled for me last week so I have to tread carefully in this thread, but I had to post this lol.
No they didnt swap. Alyn is the sailor and Addam is the dragonrider, just like the book. For the Dragonseeds way I rationalized it in the book was that the Valaryons and the Targaryens interbred for hundred years before Aegon's Conquest
in the book, Addam was the older and thr dragon rider and Alyn was the younger one who was the great sailor, right? So now in the show, Alyn is the dragonrider and Addam the sailor. Thats a weird ass choice. Especially since in the aftermath Baela eventually ends up with Alyn. But it’ll be Addam now and he seems so much older and less a match than Alyn is lol. But again we won’t see that in this show anyway it seems, unless they do a 5th seasondon’t read too many spoilers
man I really gotta go back and check this lol. Is the bald dude in the show not older and Addam? And the younger one with hair Alyn? Alyn Oakenfist was the younger brother in the book and the sailer, he wasn’t the dragonrider. Did they swap the names here? I’m so confused lol
man lots of great acting this week. that scene between Aegon and Larys was absolutely phenomenal. the total tonal shift when Larys said "they will always underestimate you" made my hair stand up on end
what are the dragon keepers supposed to do with those small branches they were holding against a dragon?
I think they just try to use them to direct the dragons in a direction tbh. I feel like they were using them to push Vermax along in season 1 when they were helping Jace train him
I can't screencap it right now but Rhaenyra's face after the kingsguard walked in was giving "Roman after accidentally sent Logan a dick pic" vibes lol edit: the video just popped up on twitter
this is why I complained about them aging down her and Daemon’s kids in the first season, I legit don’t know how they’re going to do that now. And it’s a very big reason why Aegon III becomes who he becomes as it pertains to dragons. Which is making me afraid that they’re just not gonna do that storyline/subplot at all because we presumably won’t be seeing the the eventual outcome of it because the series is going to end…I don’t even know where. After the hour of the wolf and the regents are chosen? Theres not a natural end point to this full story until Aegon 3 comes of age and his rule begins, IMO, but there’s no way they’re showing us all that. Sigh.
