The Alyn and Daemon plotlines this season have been interminably slow and repetitive. At least now there’s clearly some movement with Alyn’s
So the Blacks have the loyalty of the Starks, yet the Starks are just…not around? And don’t they have the Vale, and the loyalty of the Frey now as well? And the Valeyrans? Is anyone else confused about how this war is going and who really controls what? Because Rhaenyra was acting like she’s doomed but it doesn’t seem like they’ve even been trying to gather their arms against the Greens yet
I am guessing the feeling is that because while she has these alliances, she has no actual army, but yes I agree the way this plot point has been handled isn't the best
The starks are marching. It takes weeks to travel anywhere and these are all old men marching. Jace secured the twins so they could have a quicker route.
Ooo I love them showing the aftermath of daemon’s first banishment. We never saw how Viserys acted after, not sure if it’s legit or just Alys/weirwood visions messing with him
Ugh…poor Ser Darklyn. Also holy shit at the dragon keeper also glad to get confirmation that was sea smoke, wasn’t sure if it was him or silverwing. Seasmoke been beefing up. Looks just like Drogon haha
Starks are preparing for winter and would take them forever to form a full army and march them thousand miles south. They're sending a smaller force of a few thousand in the meantime. That is who they're preparing the twins for. The Vale they have control over, but they're not really a factor in this war in terms of contributing troops. Mainly just a fortress Basically the layout of the war right now: The Blacks have military power in the islands at the mouth of Blackwater with a naval blockade of King's Landing, and a loose coalition of houses in the Riverlands. The forces directly under Rhaenrya are isolated on islands off the coast and can't really do much on land. Daemon building a full fledged Black army In the Riverlands is currently in process, but it is taking a long time. For the Greens the Lannister army is waiting for dragon support before they march into the Riverlands from the west, the Hightower army is currently dealing with small neighboring Black holdouts before they march from the south, the King's Landing army just is preparing to march into the Riverlands from east, the Stormlands army is being held in reserve, and the Green council is making overtures to the Triarchy fleet go break the Black blockade. So yeah the Black situation right now is kinda fucked.
Yeah idk I’m trying to be patient about where this season is going but just after the first four eps these last two have had a lot of jumping around. GREAT SCENES AND ACTING. Don’t get me wrong. Obviously we’re establishing the dragon seeds now and unrest at KL. Though I’m just impatient for more War in the War section of said famous Targ civil war. Matt Smith REALLY brought it this ep. His range was very good. Also was very into the R & M kiss I’m for it.
Maaaan I’m gonna be pretty pissed off if this is the case. And it looks like they’re leaning that way too. Fuck.
