Just stopping by to say I fucking hate that this show makes me care so goddamn much about CGI creatures lmao And also (and sorry if this has been mentioned, I am about 75 pages behind since the season started) when Cole first wakes up, the face they show totally looks like Rickety Cricket to me lmao
I forgot to mention how much they are nailing Alys Rivers. One of the coolest and most fascinating characters in this story, and they are killing it so far.
Amazing. I don’t think any other take or meme or parody will top this for me for the rest of the series.
Love that we are getting all these cool Riverlands characters from the books, but I am sitting here waiting on Black Aly Blackwood and Sabitha Frey like
Finding out the actor who is playing Alyn is a founder of a really cool game studio that just released a really cool Metroidvania wtf
Be surprised how small the Dance of the Dragon parts are in the book compared to the other portions (I think the events covered in this show are less than 200 pages out of 740). You could really make at 3 or 4 other series just based off the other parts of that book.
yeah i think the ringer's pod said the show was probably covering like 100 pages? this was hardcover instead of the paperback like I have but still honestly I'm more just interested in the targs as a whole and the little I've heard about the blackfyres, which I have to imagine will be a show at some point
I’m about 146 pages in, very surprised by how many pages are dedicated to Jaehaerys. I think I still have like 150 pages until I’m at the show’s prologue.
Don't expect to see the Blackfyres in the book. That part of history will be covered in Fire & Blood part 2. The upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms show should take place a decade or so after the 1st Blackfyre Rebellion after the Blackfyres were defeated and exiled. So while it won't be in the thick of it, the show is for sure going to talk about the Blackfyre stuff a lot, and they'll be kinda looming in the background < where there Blackfyres fit in lore spoiler
The Jaehaerys portion is my favorite. I think I have said in here before that could easily be a show in of itself and it would rule.
It was confirmed last year by Variety, and as of February of this year the writer Mattson Tomlin said he was in the early process of writing the script.
Yeah the history of their rule is just filled with cool tidbits and world building and lore and etc. i think my favorite tidbit of the entire story happens during jaehaerys’s reign and involves Balerion, but I also love the Elissa Farman story which also happens during Jaehaerys’s reign
