the look meleys gives rhaenys at the end seemed like a deliberate mirroring of the look they shared before going into battle
From what I remember Aemond basically crowns himself in the book after, but the way it’s reported in the books is all very quickly brushed over. Like “oh he actually crashed down on both of them at the same time it was just an accident what happened to Aegon. Also now Aemond is wearing the crown and calling himself Lord Protector now, oh look there he goes off to fight the next battle!…definitely reads like a little bit of Green propaganda
i kinda expected from everything i’ve heard that the fight would be more 2v1 and that meleys could have stood a chance against vhagar 1v1 instead of how it ended up with meleys clearing sunfyre pretty quickly and then basically being 1v1 with vhagar after
That’s how it’s more or less described in the books, but now seems like that might have been Green propaganda to cover up what Aemond did haha
Great stuff this week. Aegon failing hard at speaking a single sentence of Valyrian is so funny to me.
I liked the concept of turning this siege of a very minor castle into a huge battle involving such high stakes characters. They did a good job of showing just how different inserting dragons into these wars can be
How many dragons does each side have? I assume it’s approximately even, since one side having a much higher number would clearly mean they could just waltz in and win
Blacks have more but Vhagar is just so massive that it doesn’t matter. Plus Rhaenyra not flying into battle for obvious reasons and she’s been keeping Jace and his dragon back as well. So really the only ones they’ve been fielding despite the numbers advantage has been Meleys and Moondancer, while Daemon has Caraxes off in the Riverlands. The blacks also have a bunch of unclaimed dragons on Dragonstone, Daemon was singing to the biggest one (Vermithor) at the end of last season
i need people to stop making tweets like that if the people aren't dropping their @s. just a tease otherwise.
