Just finished it for the first time. The scene and dance the night away are probably my least fav but still good tracks. Album rules. Singles are so good. Break right is my jam jam jam
I get why Dance The Night Away doesn't hit for people but I really like it. I think they could lean poppier more often like that and I'd dig it. But they should do whatever they feel because they don't seem to miss
It’s more of a lyric thing. I love the music. I just find the lyrics a little corny but it’s still real good
likewise, it's mostly the line about being in all the plays that makes that one a little clunky for me
ah fair, its pretty rare that lyrics are ruining a song for me (not that you guys said it was ruined, ykwim)
Still stuck on how good Cartwheel was, I think. I liked this on first listen but was not immediately hooked, except for Break Right, which has been stuck in my noggin for weeks.
I can’t express enough how much I fucking love Dance The Night Away. Up there with BMX for my favourite Hotline song
After only this weekend I’m pretty certain I like this like, way more than Cartwheel. And I liked that album!
I think break right is easily the best song on here but I also listened to that probably too much before the album came out
yeah that melody is just like candy. It’s so fun. Honestly a thing I don’t love about this album compared to cartwheel is the album cover and I dont know why that takes me out of the record too.
My expectations were a little low cuz they had the dreaded combo of me over listening to Cartwheel and their live show being kinda disappointing (chalking this up to the venue though, just a terrible mix). Hugely impressed after a couple listens. Very much an oh yeah this is why I loved this band record for me and while sonically obv in the same lane as its predecessor, I appreciate the new touches as well like the piano and DtNA. Just a good record all around.
Okay yeah really loving this after a few more spins. Break right will probably be my song of the year.
mostly enjoyed this. some duds mid record but some real knockout tracks too. love dance the night away
