Dang YBF even got outshined in the conversation in their own thread. /s Definitely one of my top 10 from last year. Still go back to it quite frequently.
Yeah they should have blown up last year. Their Chicago shows are always wild, and they played here maybe 8 or 9 times in 2018-19. I can’t wait for a fall or winter tour. Also, does this release feature the original versions of the EPs? I have their “SYG Years” release on vinyl which I think has remastered versions.
New single tomorrow! It's either for an EP or an album. Pretty cool song, I really vibe with the lyrics & like that they experimented with less screams. I don't like it as much as anything off of You'll be fine sadly. Very excited for new music from these guys tho
My exact thoughts! SPS mixed with we're going to make it to Kilby! For me personally I think the mixing could be a bit cleaner with the vocals but that's just personal preference. SPS was actually my fav off the last album
New EP "I Won't Reach Out To You" out May 28 1. One for the Boy 2. Featuring Mark Hoppus 3. Losing Days 4. Pop Shuvit (Hall of Meat, Duh) 5. Please Don't Cry, You Have Swag Preorders: Hot Mulligan
I’m sure I’ll warm up to it but I didn’t love this on the first listen. It took me a while to realize how good YBF was though. I’m not a huge fan of the drum machine thing. Chris has a solo EP coming out soon too which I am excited for. also I am definitely buying that rolling tray they have up for pre-order
Really like that song. Gonna hold off to see if my local indie record store puts up pre-orders before ordering one to save on shipping, but will be grabbing the vinyl either way.
That song is boring as fuck. Tades just sounds so bland in those lower octaves. I guess they caught lightning in a bottle with "Pilot". "Featuring Mark Hoppus" is hilarious as a title though.
I thought YBF really lack the super catchy melodies on Pilot though. Look at a song like "OG Blue Sky". Starts out great, super catchy instrumental and then they absolutely blow it with the chorus melody. I still have a medley of all the songs on Pilot stuck in my head and I haven't even listened to it in like a year.
