The whiplash between the goofy-ass this-shoulda-been-a-placeholder titles and the actual lyrical content is just... off the scale with this one
Despite the lyrics, my first impression is that this is actually an easier listen than the last one. Musically it feels less suffocating or something; there’s more breathing room and it generally feels a little lighter. Really impressed - the band has done it yet again. Monster Burger and a $5 Beer is so good. That opening guitar is soooo You’ll Be Fine.
Musically it's less closed-in than WWIW but lyrically it's like... how dare they make songs this sad be so fucking catchy? So impressive.
I will withhold further comment until tomorrow (and a few more listens) but I will say that I’m just as grateful for this band as always.
Love how this manages to both sound like Hot Mully and also sound different then the rest of what they have done in the past
I mention in my review that it's kinda their thing but it's still probably the most gutting record I've heard all year
Glad i got tickets for my show in November, looks like the entire run is sold out aside from a few dates
Valid honestly, sometimes I'm like what the FUCK Hot Mulligan song is in my head and 'the one with the jokey song title' does NOT help
