Haha no it was so confusing to me I looked up the lyrics to Monica and was like wait that's the other song for me.

 

carbon monoxide hotel woof. felt that one. this thing is gonna wreck me.

 

This is good not as immediate as why would I watch for me but excited to listen more.

 

I guess because maybe I've been living under a rock, I've never heard of this band until today.

So, here I am listening to this. It's GOOD.

 

I didn't know this was out! Not paying super close attention because I'm simultaneously working, but I'm liking what I hear!

 

I’m gonna give it a few weeks since knee jerk reactions on here haven’t gone over well lately, but I will say that right now it strikes me as their most cohesive, most complete album yet. It’s also a great headphones record, which is not really something that has occurred to me about their past stuff. Love the guitar work, love the lyrics, love the songwriting, love the dual vocals which are used as great as ever. Great album from a great band.

 

I really like Mix Master Wade on the Beat. I like Tades's small falsettos on single words in the verses

 

This immediately feels like their best album to me

 

It'll probably take me a while before I can put it on the same level as their last but it definitely feels like its possible.

 

Finished private music and only got the first track before I had to start doing work stuff. Excited to check out the rest

 

Have only listened in my car so far, but liking what I hear. Sounds like we're getting more Chris this album, which I thought was pretty missed on WWIW.

Can't wait to pop some headphones in this weekend and go for a long bike ride with it.

 

Going on a vacation and planning on doing a few long runs, so excited to let the new albums released sink in and make some memories

Was fun last album trying to convince friends of mine to listen to Cock Party 2. They didn't want to believe a song titled that would be very good lol.

 

Lol so frustrating that it's one of my favorite songs on the entire record for that very reason

You'll Be Fine remains my favorite, but I like their last 3 albums a lot regardless

 

I love the falsetto Tades does in the verses of Mix Master. Reminds me of Justin from Motion City.

 

The second half of Slumdog Scungillionaire is insane.

 

I got lynched on reddit for saying this but I really hate people deciding where this album ranks when it hasn't been out for 24 hours. Like is that take wrong?

 

Monica might be one of their best songs.
