Running around in an open world with a bow is definitely helping me take my mind off waiting for that other game where you run around with an open world with a bow.
just got done with the proving. holy shit. I agree with pretty much everything @tucah has said . The lore is this game is fascinating
Played probably three or four hours worth last night. Made it to right after the Proving where Rost is killed. Definitely a fun game. The aiming and overall control of Aloy just feels so good/natural. I don't know what it is with the control; I guess it feels like, compared to The Witcher 3 (just off the top of my head), she has more weight to her and the rolls/crouches feel so nice. Also definitely one of the best looking games I've ever played
This game is REALLY easy. I have it on hard and haven't struggled at all. Sitting at level 25 but haven't advanced anymore after The Proving.
Level 25 after the proving? I'm past that and I'm like level 4. Is there a second proving or are you just leveling up a bunch?
I'm a collectibles junky. I've seen most of the map at this point. I've been running around picking up any sidequests and items I can. I'm likely going to move into the main quest soon.
Just did the Proving last night, this game is so much better than I was expecting/hoping. I'm so emotionally involved with these characters at this point it's insane. I've already teared up quite a few times. Really digging the mystery. I have crazy shifts this week so I'm not going to have much of a chance to play it and it's killing me. And there is all sorts of fantasy inspired stuff in here, A Song of Ice and Fire (Mad King? hell ya), Wheel of Time, The proving was exactly like Brandon Sanderson's White Sand but that book isn't even published so they're super fans if they did that on purpose.
it's easy to get emotionally invested when the first scene of aloy as a kid is those kids and that nora woman being so fucking mean to her she just wanted to help pick berries =(
