Yeah the Dave Franco Insect Controlled Robot I could see as honestly being pretty scary for very young kids
Enjoyed this a lot. Was not expecting to get so weird, to the point of animals wanting to kill humans.
I scream laughed when she killed the Queen Butterfly and tried to nonchalantly play it off by wiping it on the wall
opted for this over bride last night. pretty fun. echoing the scene with the queen crushing being hilarious. felt self cautious at how loud i cackled during that one.
Seeing this today with my mom and older brother for his birthday. First time seeing a Pixar film in theaters since Up.
That was a Pixar-ass Pixar film. There's just something about Pixar films that make you feel good. When Mabel killed the Insect Queen, I laughed out of sheer "What the fuck"ness.
The moral of the story is if animals got their shit together they could take us all out and probably should.
When the robot mayor starts crawling around like Samara from The Ring and the guy in the crowd goes, “I don’t think that’s the mayor” I was just cackling to myself at the absolute over the top, batshit insanity I had not anticipated from this at all.
Sam Richardson and Aparna as the grad students was perfect Thankfully I was less annoying than Mabel but I also always cared more about animals than people lol, glad overall the message was not everyone sucks
Understanding it’s a kids movie, I will say that as a reporter that covers city government: A) No mayor has full control over a highway project. B) It would be incredibly annoying if they had to make decisions for every piece of bridge and not just the entire project.
For 2020s Pixar I go: Great: Hoppers Turning Red Good: Soul Luca Mid: Inside Out 2 Elio Onward Bad: Lightyear Elemental And you know what… less sequels than you would think this decade
Wife and I saw this today. Absolutely loved it. Had every great quality of a Pixar film. Touching, emotional, funny, wholesome. So glad they’re pumping out great, original movies. Also, the Pixar easter eggs they had throughout the film were fun. The For The Birds birds showing up in the scene where King George and Mabel have the meeting with the animal council made my month
