My god, painted shut is probably a top 10 album for me at this point. I saw my twin alone is just so, so special. Makes me want to cry almost lol

 

Painted Shut is probably my album of the decade, in all honesty. It’s like that one, Western Teleport by Emperor X, or Ticketty Boo by Silo’s Choice.

 

How much of a minority am I in, in liking Get Disowned considerably more than Painted Shut? I was just totally unable to connect to that album. I also like all the new songs they’ve released more than anything that was on Painted Shut.

 

Get Disowned is just as good imo but Painted Shut is def excellent and easy to connect with. I think that's the minority opinion part probably.

 

I immediately connected to Painted Shut & still love it. Haven’t been able to get into Get Disowned nearly as much, though, but I do enjoy a few songs on it a great deal

 

I think this is the best way of putting it tbh

 

Get Disowned took me a minute to come around on as hard, and it’s an album of mostly 8s and 9s but just not quite as many 10s if that makes sense

 

painted shut is much closer to being a pop album while get disowned is almost freak folk at time

the algernon guys really helped her tighten up her songwriting, imo, not that she wasn't brilliant before but there's just so much more restraint on painted shut and that's why i think it's so good

 

I, too, greatly prefer Painted Shut

 

From what I’ve heard this new record will surpass my love for both

This album is perfect.

 

Are they currently in the studio? Looks that way on Insta.

They really are. Pretty sure Painted Shut is either my first or second favorite album to come out this decade.

 

made that post while feeling emotional to Powerful Man, so I feel you. it's crazy to have this solid run of records with like. no dip in quality whatsoever (for me anyway).

after spending so much time playing the new one, I'm having a lot of fun revisiting their old stuff

 

Wild to me that Bark Your Head Off managed to surpass Painted Shut. How do you even do that?

 

Frances was posting on Twitter today that they identify as NB and prefer they/them pronouns. Just felt like people who talk about their music would like to know.

Ready for either another Hop Along LP or another Frances solo record. I can't believe Likewise was over 2 years ago.

 

Would pretty quickly be my most anticipated if it’s happening
