Been completely absorbed by the back half of this the last few days. What a stretch of songs. I love how dense this record is, there's so much to unpick.
Only just noticed the background chants during the second "In an open field" section of One That Suits Me. Love that this is pretty much all I've listened to for two weeks and I'm still picking out new details.
@Joel @Swae Lee either of you nerds want a free ticket to the show this friday? I have one but i aint going, trying to give it away but none of my friends want lol
ughhhh I wish I could get up for that, thanks for thinking of me though! How nobody wants a free ticket to that in the city is beyond me
got my appt made for a “The Knock” and “Look of Love”-themed tat. Can’t stop thinking about a hop along sleeve full of lyrical interpretations tbh, but we’ll see about that haha
One of these songs was playing at the brewery I went to the other day. May still try to get at the Sunday show if I’m not dead from the wedding I’m going to tom

Went in with unbearably high expectations and they just fucking killed it still. God, how can she do this for a month straight
o yeah forgot to mention, no “look of love” which bummed me out, but we got “happy to see me,” that was astonishing
Oh yah that is such a lovely touch. The way the chants differ slightly in melody too is so effective. Adds a real chain-gang vibe to the whole thing. Listening to that song literally rn hahah
Every time I listen to the line "I heard the engine and then you lay down like a good boy on the hot summer tar" I well up. One of the most heartbreaking lyrics I've ever heard.
