It fucking rules and Drew wasn’t kidding about the guitar work. I also really like the production on this.
It’s also the longest Home Is Where record and I definitely felt it but in an extremely satisfying “yay there’s more” kind of way.
Like this but don't love it... will probably grow on me. But getting me to off Arm's Length or Charmer for this will be a task for the next bit.
One of the best most evocative songwriters out there. my one thing with this band I can’t get over is I have an “Assisted Harakiri” problem, as in any time I put any of their records on all I want to do is listen to “Assisted Harakiri” on repeat.
Might just not be in the mood but this isn’t doing much for me and the vocals are really grating, probably gonna stop and come back to it later.
After one listen, I still prefer the whaler but this was better than the singles led me to believe. Their lyrics are a strong suit, which helps me get passed the vocals being grating to me at times
Oh oops, didn’t see you had been posting in here prior. I haven’t heard of that album either but I plan on checking it out for sure.
