Probably top 5 hardest parts of the game. I couldn’t believe it kept on going and going. Though there is one thing that helps a ton, don’t want to spoil it though if you haven’t come across it
Finally beat Moorwing properly, in Act One instead of Act Three haha I think I've beaten every boss or gauntlet in less than ten tries so far. I'm gonna try to get to Choral Chambers via Sinners Road this time I can't remember where all the tools are. I feel like I should have more than just pin throw by now
i remember Sister Splinter and The Widow giving me more trouble. still about a dozen tries, but only because of the flying assholes Sister Splinter summons. I totally forgot about Widow's second phase. "oh, that's it? waitaminute now i remember--OH CRAP."
made it to Phantom! The Mist gave me more trouble than Bilewater tbh. even knowing the trick to getting through there it somehow took me like an hour.
I’m hoping sea of sorrows will ultimately motivate me to go beat radiant absrad on the original game. I did all the other radiant bosses last fall but gave up on that one after literally a full day of attempts
Got captured and taken to the Slab, i missed out on that the first time. Cogwork Dancers fight still makes me cry first playthrough i cheesed Lugoli. they patched it seriously considering doing the rest of the game without the third/fourth needle upgrade. Lugoli aside, delivery quest and flea festival were some of the most frustrating parts of the game. (edit: i've read that each boss has unique damage scaling that sometimes makes subsequent needle upgrades feel less beneficial) tbh i'm not sure i started this playthrough with the intention of finishing the entire game a second time. i kinda just wanted to revisit some of my favorite boss fights, of which Lugoli obviously wasn't one. idk. i wanna at least fight Trobbio and First Sinner again, i'll see how i feel after that. i'm already over twenty hours into this playthrough.
Trobbio only took like fifteen minutes hah after you beat him, not only does he stop crawling any time you come back to check, he reacts if you hit him lmfao still on First Sinner. this fight is awesome.
i put this on hold for a few days to cool down, and when i got back i did skull cave in one try and deep docks bros in two! that was a bit of a confidence boost. i'm looking for all the fleas now, i have like three left. i don't think they'll go to fleatopia unless i beat the last judge, though. i do wanna beat all the act two bosses in act two this time (their non-voided versions), if getting to act three is even the goal still. eventually i'm gonna reach the point where all i have left in act two are bosses i don't like...
wow what a day. i did savage beast fly in far fields, disgraced chef lugoli, courier's rasher (via sinner's road/exhaust organ), the last judge, and moved the fleas to fleatopia. i'm not looking forward to groal, but i must say, things are going better than expected, i might reach act three soon after all.
well of course now that i've done voltvyrm and raging conchfly all that's left are the two fights i hated the most in act two, groal and the gauntlet in high halls.
ohfuckohfuckohfuck i did it i fucking beat groal. that asshole took like two dozen tries but i fucking did it.
all right thread, i might need some actual help. i got all three songs and i've done all the necessary quests to get the wish that would trigger act three but it isn't showing up. other than flame father and witch crest (which aren't even requirements) i can't think of anything else to do. edit: oh wait it doesn't show up until after the lace fight. nvm i still need to do that. editedit: holyshitholyshit i beat the second lace fight in under ten tries. (and the high halls gauntlet in under five.) i am on fire.
Not sure if I wanna try for the other endings (ie beat GMS an extra two times) or go straight to act three. Cursed ending is intriguing but sound like such a chore.
I guess I'm getting into Silksong if winding floss onto my fingers at bedtime is reminding me of Hornet's healing animation... Crossed 90% completion on Hollow Knight over the weekend and have had SS in my backlog since the fall, so here we go.
okay, i've gotten the "normal" ending and the ending that leads to act three (so i'm in act three now), and i've made a separate save file where i'm still cursed. GMS isn't so bad when you can heal. so of course while cursed it's a different story. it's a really tough fight, but i really want that achievement. it's the only one left that might still actually be doable for me
The mechanic that helped me get that achievement is you can remove the spikes by hitting them twice. It gives you a lot more room to dodge the three-mask attack in particular.
the ascent out of the abyss took me like ten minutes! i expected that to take way longer. thank you muscle memory.
Second Trobbio flight took like half and hour but I didn't mind, such a fantastic flight, he's so flashy haha Got witch crest, multibinder, and claw mirrors combo ready for pesky voided act three enemies
holy crap i did all of fleatopia in a single sitting, maybe a little under an hour? thank goodness for muscle memory, that shit took me forever before. (also i did manage to make it to the surface but i totally forgot that i have to find the mushroom guy. well at least the hard part's out of the way) i've gotten all masks, spools, and needle upgrades! i'm missing a few memory lockets but at least i've gotten enough for Sylphsong i'm gonna save karmelita for last this time bc i want hers as the memento 94% completion already???
