Very disappointed to beat Watcher at the Edge on my first try without using tools. I think it's one of the last bosses I had left. Wanted a challenge
Finally broke into Act 3 after 50 hours of gameplay. The baby Bell Beasts are adorable and I'm a little mad that they show up this late in the game
Something I realized slogging through act 2 is I think this game expects you to be using a guide to find where everything is It's definitely a conundrum a lot of Metroidvanias or any sort of game where exploration is rewarded with power increases -- if you scale stuff for people doing a moderate amount of exploration it can become a cakewalk for people who find everything Feels like they scaled stuff for people who find everything. So if you just embrace that, go look up where the mask shards are so you can have eight masks during act 2 or where to find the best tools it definitely feels a lot more manageable. Also if you just accept that the game expects you to grind shards and roasires so just go that spot in the citadel and spend 20 minutes grinding so you can have a full stack of shard bundles for your next boss fight... It's certainly more fun spending some time grinding and then getting to use the tools than spending that same time you would've spent grinding for rosaries bashing your head against the next boss to no avail
a certain gauntlet in act 3 made me question not only if I wanted to keep playing this game but also if I enjoyed gaming in general anymore lol. Happy to say I beat it after untold hours today and will continue to soldier on.
More bosses I enjoyed Seth Karmelita Trobbio (both times) Clover Dancers Lost Lace Fights I hated Hunter's March gauntlet High Halls gauntlet Coral Tower gauntlet Last Judge Sister Splinter Widow Fights that took surprisingly few tries Khann himself Craw Council Voltvyrm Zango Watcher Gurr
i was so annoyed when I died to The Last Judge blowing up at the very end so i found it very satisfying when i saw clips on tiktok of other people experiencing the same. feels like a canon event haha also when people celebrate early and then--surprise! second phase. i think i've done that at least once. that's also my favorite thing to watch
lmaooo i'm glad i beat the trend and survived (bc i was being SO careful cause i didn't wanna do that again)
Took out Widow. Saved the town she was tormenting, and got the upgraded needle! Decided to take a break from the main quest and went back to that locked door near Forge Daughter. Explored that area a ton and found some goodies. Including a tool that gives my needle fire oil.
Widow is a great fight. My second favorite of Act 1 behind Phantom. I really liked Last Judge and also died to her last breath explosion.
Yeah so far Widow and Fourth Chorus were my favorite fights. Lace was cool too I’m assuming I fight her again.
I found Seth at Greymoor, Shellwood, and Fleatopia but he didn't show up at Grand Gate for me. I'm not gonna even bother trying to beat his festival scores. i watched all the interactions on YouTube instead, i must admit the one where he gives you his memento is rather sweet.
For those who dont know, Seth was designed by and named after a fan who passed away from cancer during the development of the game.
Several other act 2 bosses haven't been so bad but raging conch fly is kicking my butt for some reason. Spent two whole sessions grinding up a full stack of 700 shards and 20 bundles and still haven't beat the thing Does kinda make me wish there was a way to see HP. I think I've gotten close at some times but impossible to say for sure
