Amazing game and now I’m itching to go back and finally tackle Pantheon 4 in the original. It’s the last thing for me to get 112%, and I had written it off as beyond my ability level but after getting through this game it doesn’t seem quite so impossible anymore
Last week I was off work for the whole week, in between helping with the baby I started playing Hollow Knight. I almost quit after the first few minutes but I pushed through and kept on playing and it ended up being super fun. I knew going into it that I probably won't have time to play beyond that week. That was the first game I played in the last 6 months (when my daughter was born). I enjoyed exploring and leveling up. Didn't get much into the story though. I do hate those fire spitting wasps with a passion. Next time I have a week off I'll play Silksong.
I'll probably come back to it eventually. I'm thinking of stopping here for now, I have maybe the last five or six bosses left to go. I was gonna switch to Hades 2 when it came out officially but I've been playing this all weekend
The fat dung beetle in Memorium is the hardest boss in the game. Is is possible to kill? I've literally died to it more times than half the bosses. Edit: it randomly just wasn't there anymore one of the times I came back????
I'm in act 3 and think it's finally time to bail. Really don't feel like going through all the same areas but now it's extra hard It's a shame, I think there's an amazing game in here but maybe I've just aged out of these absurdly hard challenges. I'm at like 60 hours, and maybe 35 of those were actually enjoyable.
i appreciate the encouragement but i tried it and it suuuucked. i used the plasmium w/ architect crest exploit so i had health regen and i still died. i couldn't get past the flying thingies. i wouldn't have even gotten that far without infinite tries, but once i had to diagonal pogo i was fucked i was getting really upset, actually. the only two times this game got me close to crying in frustration were this and the fucking flea juggling if you can believe it
I completed it by going back to bully the sand worms every time I needed a heal. There is a spot in every hallway section with no walls above you, and on at least 1 side. It’s safe to stand there and smack the worms for infinite silk. Allows you to use any crest you want and still get infinite heals
whoops sorry i did not read carefully, my bad lol. gotcha I forgot about that huge platforming drawback to a recharging build yeah. echoing that you can hit the worms if youre in the right spot and flea juggling is fun but too hard. I'll never try to beat Seth lol. sounds like polarblare did tho!
I had to count out loud like keeping time for music but once I started doing that it only took a couple tries lol had way more trouble with dodge
I couldn’t stop thinking about this game so I went back and fought the final boss a bunch more times with different builds. I think Shaman with Volt Filament, Weavelight, and Pale Nails is the most flexible in terms of how aggressively you play. You can be aggressive with your needle damage and fly through the fight or play more passively by waiting for your silk to regenerate. It takes about 6 skill uses per phase if you’re not also attacking with the needle. My biggest piece of advice for this fight is never dash when she’s offscreen. She seems to input read and will teleport in front of you resulting in contact damage, which is incredibly annoying. She also punishes you when you jump too early but that one was harder for me to stop doing.
The original game genuinely feels easy after playing Silksong. Blew through the first couple hours deathless last night
Hero 100% beats Silksong using a saxophone as a gamepad, says it's not even the hardest game he's sax'd Real king shit here.
Bosses I enjoyed Cogwork Dancers Lace pt 1&2 Phantom First Sinner Grand Mother Silk Bosses I "gave up" on (ie used poison cogflies to beat) SBF pt 2 (act 3) Moorwing (act 3) Groal Bell Eater
