Yeah I’ve been thinking sorry to Death Stranding and other GOTY contenders, but this is the one

 

I mean I gotta acknowledge my own recency bias with regards to Expedition 33 and Nightreign, which I loved. But this is something special.

 

I feel very confident that it’ll still be Clair Obscur for me. Doesn’t take away from this game though that it’s not my #1

I played this literally all day today, could not put it down. Still haven’t made it any farther than Greymoor, but damn I’m having so much fun exploring and finding upgrades.

 

I’m at the final boss for Act 2. If anyone has already finished it, can you tell me if it’s possible to get all 3 of the “bad” endings in one playthrough? I looked quickly into the requirements for each, so my plan is to beat normally -> beat with the cursed bud -> beat with all wishes completed. I’ve been trying to avoid spoiling myself on the details of each, though, so I haven’t googled enough to confirm that that is an okay plan.

 

There are areas of this game where it truly feels like they just want to be cruel and I feel no accomplishment for getting through it. Just "thank fucking god I'm done with that".

Really starting to feel like this game isn't for me. Metroidvanias are my favorite genre, I've beaten like 50 of them. I love Hollow Knight. But this just seems to be overly, unnecessarily challenging. Maybe I'm just getting too old. I love the platforming stuff, but when you pair it with a bunch of tanky enemies and they're all throwing projectiles it's basically a bullet hell game.

 

It’s certainly more of a soulsborne like than the original

 

The run back to The Last Judge might be what finally breaks me

 

It’s so bad

 

Well I can handle the run back just fine now but fuck that second phase

 

Yeah, that's about where I'm at now, too haha

 

There’s a shortcut you can make it like 10 seconds.

 

Yeah I didn't find the Last Judge run back too bad if you just do it fast you can avoid the enemies.

The 2nd phase took me a long time to beat but as soon as I stopped trying to hit him 100 times during the damage window I limited myself to 3 and that made it so much easier

 

3? Not bad hah. I barely got a measly one in sometimes. But boy do I have those patterns down pat now lol

 

since the gauntlet in the chapel in bonegrave kicked my butt i was prepared for more of the same in the chapel in greymoor but i kicked its butt on the first try haha

which crestsare you guys using?

 

Mount Fay sucks ass. The platforming isn’t too difficult but it feels like an UNO reverse for those that relied on hiveblood for the White Palace.

 

Reaper has been my mainstay. I just got Architect (an Act 2 crest) which seems promising but I don’t love the downward strike so it’ll take some getting used to.

 

i put it down for a few days because I was pissed about the run back and couldn’t do it. I was really contemplating quitting. Picked it up last night and got the run back down and then grinded through the boss fight. Boss still took probably 30 attempts though. There’s a few videos out there showing an easy way to run back.

 

Funny enough, I found what's apparently the optimal runback not long after I posted my comment haha

 

It only took a week for the ultimate Silksong sicko to beat every boss in the game without getting hit

Let this inspire you all to greater heights.

 

Okay realistically I switched it to 3 in phase 1 and then it was probably 1 or 2 in phase 2
