If anyone’s interested, I had their vocalist Luke on the podcast recently to talk all about it, its concept, the album trilogy, and even vague ideas for album number 4. EP #69 - Lucas Woodland (Holding Absence / ex-Falling With Style)
This is fantastic. Not as immediate as their last album and some of the songs do feel a bit weaker, but there’s a lot of depth to these songs. Not an ounce of filler on this as well, which I think is it’s greatest strength. Lyrically, this is a lot more “downtrodden” than I was expecting from them (especially as I only listened to one single prior to release). These guys have been growing very steadily especially since their birdcage singles and the last album, but really hoping this album takes them to the next level.
My buddies have been going on about this album all day yesterday. Gave it a go and I am impressed! It reminds me of a post hardcore Anberlin mixed with vocals that are reminiscent of Jordan from Like Pacific. (if that makes sense?) Either way, an amazing album! False Dawn is my favorite track so far.
Celebration Song is so special to me (maximum points ever in a song) and the rest of the songs on TGMOML are just OK on average. On this one: Head Prison Blues A Crooked Melody Scissors Dead Nonetheless Liminal The Angel In the Marble Really hit me. The other songs don't get me unfortunately.
Celebration Song is my favourite song by them but I think the rest of that album is good-great too. In Circles and Die Alone in particular I really like.
Death, Nonetheless was my favourite until the chanting at the end which is my least favourite part of the album.
Others may disagree but really feels like they cracked the code on this one There are just so many incredibly moving and euphoric moments
This is one of my albums of the year I think. Even the songs I don't love I find myself at least singing along to and grooving. My first time through the album The Angel In The Marble made me freakin' sob. And Scissors hits so hard. I got COVID right before I was supposed to see them with Senses Fail, really sad to have missed that one.
This is a really strong album. A lot of well crafted lyrics and themes. I have been really enjoying it. “The Angel in the Marble” was reminding me so much of something melody wise and I realized it was “things aren’t so beautiful now pt 2” haha odd connection.

Already got my tickets for Philly - I missed HA with Senses Fail because of covid and Capstan is one of my favorites, so i’m pumped. Plus it’s a smallish venue so that’s gonna be sick.
damn dude you missed out! that tour was SOOOO good, SF played a beefy set with the album and HA is incredible live, it was my second time seeing them and wow they nail it love, so much energy!
Was definitely expecting more than a page in this thread. This album rules. I was a little late checking it out despite loving the singles in the lead up to the release. I'm now fully in to it though. The opening 4 track run is exceptional. Scissors in particular screams of The Receiving End of Sirens in a way that few bands have.
Yeah that and Conditions are two very obvious reference points. They hit a good balance of nostalgia for that era while being great songwriters. They'll get their due imo
I was randomly thinking of Conditions over the weekend for the first time in quite some time. Had the chorus for Open Eyes stuck in my head when I woke up Saturday morning.
