Been out a little while but didn't see a thread for it and I've been binging it non-stop. Absolutely fell in love with it. 01) sun veins 02) way it goes 03) vines 04) epitaph 05) simple season 06) tuesday 07) western kids 08) poems 09) monsoon 10) vacation 11) boyish 12) interlude 13) buttercup
Finally got around to listen to this and it was pretty great. Kind of lacking on the catchy melodies part, but they're doing an interesting enough thing with their songs to have longevity. Stoked to see them at Bonnaroo!
I feel like this album is chock-full of catchy melodies! It's the only album this year where I'm constantly wondering around humming or whistlings various songs out of nowhere. This is still my album of the year though, so maybe that's attributed to the fact I legit lsiten to it every day. I adore it. Especially now the good weather is setting in over here.
Haha I might have said that wrong, I just meant that I think they still have a lot of potential in really delving into their own style. Been on repeat for the last couple of days, and that full album live performance above only gets me more hype!
Damn, Boyish -> Buttercup is such a fantastic way to close the record, up there with my favorite string of closers for this year. Apparently they've been playing that sequence live and I'm gonna be so pumped if they do so when I see them
"Boyish" and "Way It Goes" are my two favorites on this but I don't think there's a bad song on the album
"Boyish". "Buttercup", "Poems", "Epitaph" are my favezzz But agreed there's no real stand-out duds on here
Saw these guys at Bonnaroo on Thursday...absolutely killed their set, and had a large crowd for an early Thursday show. They're going somewhere
Oh nice! I had no clue this was released. I'll be sure to check it out Also want to reiterate what's been said about Buttercup. I had that song on repeat so much during the spring
Yo this EP is fantastic! Only three songs, but they had so much punch and fire to them. I wish Landmark had more of this
Hippo Campus goes freakin math rock on this EP and it's so refreshing! I've been playing this on constant repeat
