I personally don’t feel that way at all, but then again I am European and Hip Hop is somewhat different here. Not that I am particularly vocal in most places. I don't really get into situations where I could be or would want to.

Anyway, I respect that, but you’re surrounded by 30 year old (often white) guys here, but you know more about Hip Hop than most of them, so I think people still want to hear you here. Or should hear you at least.

Made kind of a shitty post in the thread for the list about the same old "token rap album" shit but I deleted it, it's not really worth it. This site is really good for representation a lot of the time so it's not really worth picking fights

Just had a skim through that latest Playboi Carti album. MY GOD does he have an annoying voice.

i really really hated WLR on first listen. But over time it broke my brain and jumped on to my EOTY list.

Musically it’s awesome but I don’t think he, as a rapper, adds anything to it. Would love an instrumental version.

It was the epitome of what I don’t like about modern rap. Nothing to really grab onto. For me, it lacks substance. Not judging anyone who does listen to him, I just get nothing from it at all.

I haven’t been this addicted to an album since Barter 6. But it’s not for everyone.

Yea its one of those things where I 100% get why people dislike it but it just works for me

It’s ahead of its time. But that’s all I’ll say because I really don’t feel like getting into it with people who just clearly aren’t into it. Not saying there’s anything wrong with that either! Explaining music is just exhausting.

Ahead of its time is an interesting take. It doesn’t sound all that futuristic to me. Personally I just think the voice is terrible.

from what I've sampled, it seems pretty "of the time" with current music

  23. Hadn’t checked out Carti til today, definitely in the “instrumentally okay but hard pass on the voice” camp

Got around to Rico Nasty today too. Fucked with a few tracks, for the most part not really for me though

I dig the Rico Nasty album overall. A bit spotty when it comes to quality, but the highs are pretty fucking cool.
