who cares? I think if you liked an album enough to consider putting it in your top 15, and you could even debate that it's hip hop/rap, then put it on your list

Is it even a list if it isn't NF x 15

I mean I usually just post lists in here with rap and R&B albums on them, but if we want to make an aggregate list it make sense to discuss stuff like this because my list would look different with or without R&B

I could be wrong, but I feel like you're one of the few in here that specifically listens to enough R&B and rap to have enough favorites to make two separate lists with 15 different records in each. I'd say if you can easily make a list that you're satisfied with, without including R&B, then go purely rap, but if you're like me and your list is already 90% rap and there's 1-2 records that are kind of R&B leaning that you really want to include, then why not include them.

I dunno... I get that R&B and rap are different things, but I also hate the semantics of genre labeling.

I need to revisit it, because I only listened once, but Crash Talk was such a disappointment after Blank Face.

Q's album has to be one of the most surprising disappointments for me this year in any genre

Habits is good and Oxy has its bangers but blank Face was another level for him. Never would have expected him to go that weird after how popular the singles on Oxy were

Schoolbooy has always felt like on the edge of being great, but never got there for me. I enjoy all of his releases but nothing really WOWs me. Never quite understood why Blank Face gets so much more praise than Habits or Oxy, doesn't feel like a drastic departure or that he does anything particularly more interesting on the album.

I used to fuck with TDE pretty heavily but I feel like outside of Kendrick it's been diminishing returns. And even with Kendrick, my personal ranking is Section 80 > Good Kid > TPAB > Damn, not to say I don't like all 4 projects.

Yes. I remember liking HiiPower when it came out though. I’ve liked songs here and there over the years but as a rapper he really doesn’t do it for me. *Guru voice* It’s mostly tha voice.

My favorite TDE rapper in theory is probably Jay Rock, just in terms of how he sounds, but I also don’t care about his output.
