I don't love or hate him, but I think the album The Incredible True Story is a solid starting point.

  2. I think his first album is a good starting point. Soul Food, Gang Related, Under Pressure, and Driving Ms. Daisy are all good from that album.

Shine On, Mind of Logic, Dead Presidents III, Used to Hate It, The Come Up, Common Logic/Midnight Marauder, Slave II, and My Chain are all mixtape songs I always had in rotation when I used to listen to him more. My Chain has one of my favorite flows from him.

Thanks! I just listened to his first album Under Pressure and really enjoyed it. Good production, laid back instrumentation with great sampling choices creating this atmosphere I totally vibed with.

Too bad the mixtape stuff isn’t on Spotify, but I might check it nonetheless.

Don’t be afraid to share “bad opionions” like this one in this thread. I personally rode hard for Bhad Bhabie. Of course history proved me right lmao

As you can see from the reactions, we don’t bite haha

To be fair I haven’t heard a lot of people question his ability

Ive just heard a lot of negative reaction to “Homicide” lately. I really like the beat
though even though the lyrics are pretty lacking.

It’s because people (me included) are tired of Eminem’s shtick. I say people but of course I mean a vocal minority because I’m pretty sure I read Eminem was the best selling artist of 2018 across all of music so yeah lmao

Logic can definitely rap fast well most complaints are about his lacking content, and the general grate of listening to a newer Eminem song. But a lot of people like that stuff so ya kno what can you know.

Denzel is reminding me of ASAP Rocky career wise, like he had some good shit and got a lot of attention but has never seen it transcend into that next level of like household name/one of the best rappers alive/huge beyond huge. This feels like it wants to be a hit but it won't be and he'll kind of just settle into that second rung of being popular and having loyal fans but never really breaking out in a major way.

And that's fine that's actually a great place to be, but I always think about what moves could have been made to make that next step and how the window is so small to actually do it.

Denzel Curry is pretty popular in Europe, like weirdly big

Denzel also seems extremely more talented than Rocky imo

Rocky’s last album is seriously underrated around here (I thought it was his best/most interesting project) but I definitely see the comparison to Denzel. They are both really good and take untraditional approaches to the genre.

Rocky's last album felt really underwhelming to me, like he made a big swing artistically and didn't really connect it all

I agree. Honestly I still think Rocky is best when he doesn't try to make a big swing artistically lol like Fuckiog Problems is still my favourite Asap Rocky song despite Aubrey

Oh I love earlier, more straightforward Rocky too. My favorite Rocky project outside of TESTING is his first tape Live Love A$AP which has a little bit of both vibes. It's aged really well in my opinion.

Yeah, his first mixtape is probably my favourite. Not that he does all of it, but Clams Casino's production on it great.

    hey you lil piss baby

Testing was a really interesting pivot for Rocky. It’s not my favorite record of his, but it’s got some of his best tracks (Fukk Sleep, Hun43rd, Purity) and I really admire his sense of experimentation.

My favorite is still AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP, which I feel is most people’s least favorite. Fine Whine fucks me up every time.
