I gotta say I really love the production style of Kenny Beats. It feels like he can mesh well with the artists he produces with and the list of artists he has worked with is great.

 

I went to see Saba tonight in Dublin purely on the strength of his RIDICULOUS feature on the new Jamila Woods record and I had a fucking blast. I should probably investigate Care for Me right?

 

Care for Me is very good and a good starting point for him, I haven't gotten into his back catalogue in the same way but that album is great.

 

Bucket List Project is a weird listen post-CARE FOR ME. It's very different tonally (much more positive/hopeful) and I have a hard time listening to it without thinking about what happened after.

CARE FOR ME affected me profoundly and I love it as a piece of art but I wish it never had to be made.

 

Care For Me was my AOTY, truly beautiful piece of work

 

He did a few songs from Bucket List tonight (dunno which ones) and that was uh... definitely a shift.

He's opening for JID in Canada and I kind of want to get a ticket just to see Saba (though I enjoy JID well enough). Is it worth it?
