I am not ready for the Ariana Grande blame fest that is about to happen.

Some twitter idiots will definitely say it's her fault but I think all of that will get shut down pretty fast.

Already happening unsurprisingly

 

My friends and I are talking about how hard it's hitting us because we sort of came up with him. K.I.D.S. came out when we were all in college, and we saw him perform at Rock The Bells 2011, which was my first real concert experience.

 

My nephew had K.I.D.S. written on his backpack when he was just a tween. He listened to the rap I listened to before that, but Mac was his real first favorite rapper. He grew up with him and developes his musical taste with him. It’s all so sad.

 

Fuuuuck. Mac Miller was essential listening during my high school years. RIP.

 

Man, I'm crushed. I really hoped that Mac would get better. Watching him progress from corny stoner frat raps to the clear-eyed introspection of his latest record was so exciting. Felt like his best years were still to come.

 

Mac’s artistical development was astounding to witness.

 

His progression as an artist was something really special. This is really sad

 

This is the first time I can think of where a rapper that I’m genuinely a massive fan of has passed away while I was a fan. I don’t even know how to feel right now, it doesn’t even seem real right now. I was supposed to see him in November, and he was just tweeting about how excited he was to go on tour. I don’t think it’s fair to blame Ariana Grande like people have been doing though, he’s openly struggled for years. Sadly, I’m not exactly shocked, just devastated. RIP to one of the most talented and likeable artists of this generation.

I don’t think I’ll ever listen to Watching Movies and Faces in the same way again.

I didn’t get into Mac until the Divine Feminine but I adore that album. I’m out all day and had to step into the washroom to pull myself together and hold back from crying. So tragic. I feel the last 12 months have been brutal.

 

He was my age. That could’ve been me. I’m only a month clean. This hits too close to home right now

That's how I feel too. So tragic just in the fact that he was so young and drug addiction/abuse is a motherfucker, but for him specifically, it just doesn't possible that this is the end of his story. Damn it.

 

I’ve never heard his music, but I’ll listen to his recent album today. The reactions to his death are heartbreaking.

 

I remember loving the piece about him in FADER(?) around 2015 or so. Serious bummer to hear this

 

Still think Faces is my favorite release of his, but I've enjoyed a lot of his material.
