is there motivation in negative spaces?

Every time I listen to Kid Cudi I'm blown away by how ahead of his time he was & still is today.

So if we are going by discographies and all that.... is Eminem the worst hip hop legend???

I dunno, Nas is pretty close. Lotta great songs, but only one truly great album

    Still A Threat Prestigious

I’d say he has two GREAT albums (though Illmatic is the greater of the two, the other one being It Was Written) and like two or three very good ones (Life Is Good for example was very good, and a lot of people love Stillmatic). I think Nas has a good discography overall.

I’d agree that compared to other “legendary” rappers with similarly large discographies, Eminem probably has the weakest one, unless I’m really forgetting someone right now.

I guess there are rappers some call legendary that have spent most of their careers as single artists, with the albums being more of a delivery vehicle for those singles

Who has the best large discography? I say Ghostface.

Its hard to compare, cause like Biggie/Tupac didn't have a large discography when they died, and those two are like automatically in any legend discussion.

The Roots always come to mind when talking discography cause they're so consistent throughout decades of work.

Yeah that’s why I started speaking of discographies comparable in size. Otherwise it’s difficult to compare. I’d even say it’s difficult to compare a large discography that grew over decades to a large one that grew within a much shorter amount of time.

The Roots are definitely up there.

It always goes back to the how to rank things binary, peaks or consistency. The answer is always a combination, but how heavily you weigh those two has a huge influence on any subjective, arbitrary ranking like this.

Black Ken is the only Lil B album I've got really into. Need to spend more time with his other stuff but a lot of his stuff is very time consuming lol

  23. The Lil B discussion just reminded me of Clams Casino. There was time where he was everywhere, but it feels like he's been very low key as of late. Does he still regularly produce anything outside of the stuff he keeps for his instrumental album series?

He produced a Lil Peep song that came out this year and has some credits on serpentwithfeet’s album.
