The new Future song might have some choice lines is it, but is it really any different/worse than some of his previous stuff? Why are people surprised?

 

This was what I was thinking. Initially I liked the song off of hype just due to there being a new Future track that sounds good to my ears. The more I listen to it though, it’s certainly misogynistic in a way that I’m not sure Future has ever been as far as how direct and mean-spirited it comes across. Also of course with the #metoo movement in full effect right now it just seems completely unnecessary to have a song that is this mysognostic.

 

I'm not defending the content of the song. It's pretty gross, but people go to his concerts and scream "I ain't got no manners for no sluts, Imma put my thumb in her butt" and praise him as one of the best in the game right now.

I love Future, but I guess I'm having a hard time understanding where people draw the line with his lyrical content.
