Glad to see the Keem love here, album feels pretty/dark and heavier than expected, some of these beats are made for a live setting, I’ll be GA at Boston
I like the Keem album enough, definitely a step up from his debut, but still feel like he's throwing a bunch of different styles at the wall to see what sticks
I mean I think the album is pretty cohesive in terms of what the title and themes being explored are, so it doesn’t really bother me that he’s got the hype songs, more introspective/lyrical, and then a song that sounds like Teezo. I’m not as into the more lyrical driven songs on here but watching the docs and live stream kinda bring more meaning to it
Really love the Keem album. I think I gave his first album maybe a listen or two back when it came out, but it never stuck with me. I can see myself going back to this a ton.
Not sharing it, but 2Chainz posted an AI-generated video on IG. Everyone join me in shaming him in the comments
Flying Lotus did the same last week. Got a load of disappointed messages, initially turned off comments and then deleted the post altogether. Then, a couple of days later, posted some pretty cool stop motion art with the same captions (I think), so he read the room eventually.
Came out last week and is fucking great. Also features my current favourite thing for rappers to do which is shouting "Free Palestine" in their songs.
Surprised there was nothing in here about the passing of Bob Power at the weekend. A producer and engineer who had a massive part to play in the near perfect sounds off so many rap and neo soul records. Was even shouted out by Tip in a Tribe song, but I can’t remember which.
