Not that I care but more from a news standpoint - it looks like Drake is dropping something tonight?

 

Probably just another live-stream where he debuts a new song from the upcoming album. Did the same rollout a couple weeks ago for his What Did I Miss? single

 

I did not listen to SSS4U and "What Did I Miss?" sounded like more autopilot, so even if I was still into his stuff, I doubt anything new coming from him will be refreshing or exciting at this point.

 

SSS4U is actually a solid R&B album

 

$$$4U is really good

 

Last time he had anything worth listening was 2018

I liked the stretch of mixtapes he did from like The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs through Baby Face Killa. I know that's a pretty big run and I can't really attest for all of it, but I'll try to look through and see if I remember any standout tracks. Always liked the song Box Frame Cadillac.

At least I think this is what Drake should be doing, he’s way better at it than he is at being tough Drake

 

That's definitely fair at this point in his career, the good rap tracks are few and far between. I also don't think PND is even remotely interesting, which brings down the project again

 

I’m also not ruling out that there is a strong unconscious bias at work here because I dislike Kendrick so much

Listening to Drake voluntarily in the year of our lord 2025 should be arrestable offence with mandatory jail time.

 

Drake has reached playlist artist for me which is fine cause he seems contempt in doing that style too.

I’ll pick out those songs I like and just play them. I don’t expect any more. I stop giving myself false hope lol.

Trying not to get too hyped for that JID album but good lord is that dude damn near or at his final form. He is my best rapper out right now, he is washing guys on every track he gets on for features. His feature on Alfredo 2 is fucking great, was not expecting a Howard Hughes reference in 2025.

 

Only got to it today, great album

 

I am very amped for it, Forever Story still one of the best of this decade for me
