I was a little shocked to see how “low” K.R.I.T’s monthly listeners on Spotify are. I didn’t know he fell behind his “peers” that far.
It feels like the last time he had significant momentum is when he put out his double album, but his output has been lacking since imo
Krit Wuz Here and Return of 4 Eva are certified classics imo and still get regular rotation. The rest of his catalog is up and down for me but nothing is bad.
It's a huge bummer but I also kinda understand from his point of view, mashups became something that was so widespread that you could find a mashup of anything on YouTube. Not at his level of course, but I could see how that would really dampen his excitement
i 100% understand that but I also felt like his production side was good enough to release more music. Broken Ankles with freeway was a really good EP. this new album with Rostrum? Records was also good I just wish he do more production if he wasn’t going to do mash ups anymore.
Didn’t listen to the whole K.R.I.T. but enough to get the just I think. It’s fine, but I like The Vent Big K.R.I.T. and this is not that.
Dijon says he really wants to produce an Eminem album. I’ve always wondered if Eminem had one more good record on him - like his version of 4:44, or something like The Force - if only he would work with someone that would get him out of his tunnel. I don’t think this will happen but it could be interesting.
I think he has at least one more good album in him will we ever get it? that I'm far more uncertain about
Same. I think it could only happen if he would work with someone that got him out of his comfort zone, but his comfort zone is being one of the biggest rappers on the planets every year he drops an album that he recorded and produced in his house, so I think the incentives must be low.
I’ve been saying he should make a record with Alchemist because I am pretty all those records is what he listens to lol
Wearing an Outkast shirt at the grocery store and a 50 year old white guy walks up to me and says, "I don't really like rap but those guys are pretty good." To which I replied, "yeah, rap sucks"
Half way through and it's not bad so far. Nas sounds much better on Premo beats than he did on Hit-boy beats, unsurprisingly
