Haven’t heard it yet but he still occasionally surprises me. I can’t say he’s consistent but once in a while he proves he’s still got it.

most of my faves already mentioned, but wanted to shout out the JID, possibly the only major label rap record I really fucked with this year

I mean it probably even after all this time to those guys still mean something to rap on a De La Soul record

I think the Amine album is underrated

I listened to the Wale album. It’s well made and all but it bores me personally. The songs are not catchy enough for it to be a great pop rap record but they also don’t have enough substance (as far as I can remember) to be anything else. It’s a middle ground I don’t care for.

Now I only have the Mobb Deep album left on my list for this year.

I’ve been going back to the Vel Nine album a couple of times since I first heard it last week, I’m really big on that one

Haven’t listened to the whole thing yet, but something about this Mobb Deep album feels off to me. Like it sounds weird. It reminds me of sonically of remixes I used to find on Limewire, like where they put a Nas verse on a Tupac song or some shit.

Every 5 years or so I drop some obscure album in this thread and it takes off within our little by bubble, I’m hoping this is one of those
