Yesss this Lupe song is incredible

 

Good tweet. But I also have been listning to early Jay-z recently, and let me tell you.... there's a LOT of stuff on those first three albums that aged terribly.

 

FOR EXAMPLE, from Vol 3:

"Give my ladies dick, my young hoes pee-pee"

 

I have been listening to A LOT of Beastie Boys. The mostly got it together after their first album lyrically.

 

And even the first album was tongue in cheek to take the piss out of frat boys at the time. Unfortunately they didn’t get that and thought they were serious, hence the drop off with the second album when they dropped the childish shit.

 

Yeah of course, though they said they themselves got a little caught up in the act

 

New Lupe is great. His flow strangely reminds me of ASAP Rocky in this one

Today I realised that two of my three favourite Drake songs are Bun B songs

 

What are you guys listening to

 

I could never get into the beastie boys, they just do not work for me.

 

Have you skimmed through all? Because some their albums are wildly different from others

 

not in probably 10 years, any recommendations for starting?

 

I listened to Licensed to Ill for the first time in full last year and while I respect it, I thought it was extremely hit-or-miss.

 

Listen to Check Your Head. Also their entire discography really.

 

Yeah, I did a discography run through a while back and learned that I like them much more than I ever knew

 

Hard to say because they have different sounds, so probably a discography run with liberal use of the skip button. Maybe skip LtI.

 

I thought it was way better than I remembered it being. The biggest songs are the ones that are big misses though to me. But yeah it is by far their worst record.

 

Really excited for new Doechii and to see her keep growing. Her shit is so exciting to me.
